How disappointed are you. 1-5

0 for me as well, I love the club and team but last night just confirmed to me why I'm becoming totally ambivalent towards football nowadays.

Half a billion spent by Chelsea and even they are miles behind City and Liverpool. Part of me actually dreaded getting to the final, can you imagine what Liverpool would have done to us.

Money has made the Premier a great product but its left clubs like us absolutely miles behind. It's barely even a sport anymore.

Expected to get beaten on the night, but the tactical approach to the game was so poor we learned nothing from that first leg and proceeded to gift them a load more chances. Difference this tim was they took them.

Being outclassed is one thing but it felt like we gifted them the majority of the goals and they didn’t have to work hard for it.

Saturday against Rotherham I was 5, just look at the league table with those 5 dropped points against Rotherham, to compete against the likes of Chelsea we need to be in the Premier league at a bare minimum and even then its a struggle.

If the question was how proud were you to be a Boro fan last night the answer would have been 5 all day long,to be disappointed there would have to have been some expectation and I had zero the moment I knew our team.

2 - I thought we started brightly and restricted Chelsea to a few long balls, then they scored from virtually their first chance, Rogers' shot from a well worked corner was saved, and it was downhill from there.

Shows why two legged semi finals massively favour the bigger teams. We played really well in the first leg but were fortunate still to get a result. No chance Chelsea miss those chances in 180 mins, the luck wasn't on our side and coupled with that we didn't have the pace to hurt them on the counter

I feel a little bit sorry for those fans that were given false hope after we scraped a very lucky 1-0 home win.
MC did what he did to get a result, it didn’t pay off, we move on 👍🏻

4 really that was embarrassing, we had something to hold onto there. Gulf in class but Carrick got it wrong massively

0 for me
Not sure what Carrick got wrong - maybe he managed the wrong club

The two ties went better than expected for me
Brilliant for the fans in the first leg - a win and a goal

Expected something like 3-0 last night so not fussed

1, for me, expected to lose over the two legs when the draw was made, we rode our luck at the Riverside playing out from the back, but thanks to Chelsea's poor finishing we got away with it and won the game.

Kamikaze, playing out from the back again last night, against a Premier opposition, and this time Chelsea didn't miss their chances....

We dont have the players to p*ss pot about at the back against Premiership opposition, we play this system in the Championship to bring teams on, to open teams up, but these teams are your QPRs Sheff Weds and Rotherhams... totally different class of players.

I felt sorry for the travelling fans , I expected (hoping) the game to be a little closer...however. it could have been 7, 8, 9 or 10 if Chelsea had moved up a gear.

4 for me

We should have been set up more solidly first half
We shouldn't have made those mistakes to hand it to Chelsea

The one is for the goal we scored, which I celebrated like a win 😁🕺
What’s the scale though

1 is what

5 is what

If 1 is not arsed then I’m a 2

It was a nice distraction not our season

1 (would be zero). I was happy having something to play for after the first leg.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and little tweaks here and might have made a difference, but let’s not kid ourselves. The gulf between them and us was massive. Caicedo cost more than our entire squad.

4-0 down at HT was disappointing but these things can happen. Chelsea smelt blood and went for the kill.

I don’t see much point over analysing a one off game against a £1bn team. I see enough of us in The Championship to understand where we struggle and where we need to develop.

Chelsea just made some of the frailties look even worse, but given the talent they had, I’m not surprised.

We’ve had a very good run and the Home Leg was brilliant. The fans done themselves proud in both legs, but particularly last night. They were immense.

Lots to be proud of. I’ve accepted it for what it is and looking forward to a Play off push now.

We Shall Overcome.

1 - Over 2 legs Premier Leauge teams are pretty impossible to beat. Maybe if we played away first and got a draw or only lost 1-0 I would have thought we had a real chance but always thought that we would get humped at Stamford Bridge.

1. Thought we’d get battered first leg so the win was a massive bonus that was enjoyed fully by all. Last night was always going to be a step too far, given the missing players. I was completely over it after the 2nd goal. Onwards to a great end of season run to play off victory now. I truly believe that!
