Hope Zhou is ok

The Safety car was the best thing that could have happened to that race from a neutral point of view.. made for a fantastic last few laps with some proper racing highlighting driver skill rather than just tactics.

Good to see Lewis’ car getting more competitive too
 
That merc is def getting better Shame for George as it would been interesting to see how he drove it.

I still think it would have been a great finish even without the SC. Perez wouldn't have been anywhere near mind you.
 
I said last year that F1 is better when Ferrari are in the mix and look at how it’s going now.

Hope mclaren Can find some real race pace soon for lando.
 
Fantastic race not withstanding the horrific accident on the opening lap of course.

For Zhou to walk away from that is nothing short of amazing and testament to exactly how safe these cars are now, but was horrific all the same.

Great to see Mercedes slowly getting things right and hopefully challenging at the very top of the grid again soon.

Finally, great to see Sainz win his first GP too after effectively telling his team where to stuff team orders.

On a decent circuit yes, but there are still some circuits that were dull before and still are.
Safety car lottery is one that I can't make my mind up on. Definitely spices up races but also seems unfair that it creates clear winners and losers through no fault of the driver/team.

Or to look at it another way, Verstappen has a dominant but unreliable car. He’s pretty much got the title in the bag after winning 6 out of 10 races. Could have been 7 or 8 but for car failures. Unless the Red Bull breaks down at least 4 more times this season*, this Championship is a done deal and we’re not even halfway.


*or their floor is discovered to be illegal.

Also I think the SC is thrown out for the smallest thing as if to create this spectacle.

Austria next another fast wide circuit.

It was eerily similar to the way Dan Weldon tragically lost his life in Indy car when his car flew up like that and hit a catch fence.

Thankfully this time all was ok.

I think size has so much to do with it. These cars are so wide and so heavy. Not a problem on the wide open fields of Silverstone
