HOOF 31 January 2021: 12 Day Quiz - DAY 13 -TIE BREAK RESULTS - Guess Erimus74's favourite Boro footballers

Sorry. I just thought you might be having a day off.

I am sort of looking forward to a round 2 of this 12 day series. With the worst being selected. As I think we might get a bigger variety of answers.
There is a very very long list of crap players. Your age will probably decide who you pick

I have closed round 4 of the competition a little early. In honour of the legend that is Sir* John Hickton.

John Hickton v QPR.jpeg

As a mark of respect to John all people entered into the quiz get a point today. Irrespective of whether they voted for him or not.

The eagle eyed among you may have noticed that the day 5 question is noted in the results table. Doing this allows me to publish the results earlier.

We are looking for Erimus74's all time favourite left back or left wing back (number 3). As mentioned before, the description is more important than the number.

Answers by 12:00 UK time on Tuesday 7 April 2020 please.

*This honour was bestowed on Mr Hickton by the People's Republic Of Yorkshire. For his services to football in the county.

Having had a think about this I have come up with a choice of 2 - French Frank or Terry Cooper.

I am going to plump for Terry Cooper.

Boro have had some good left backs in the erimus74 era. This is a tough one. I know how much he loved 73-74 and how special that team was so for sentimental reasons he could go Frank Spraggon............ However, I would pick Terry Cooper personally, as he improved that team after joining, so I will say he will pick Terry Cooper for similar reasons.

Tricky one this as Cooper was past his best when he joined us, but think Erimus will go for him. I would personally have gone for Ziege...(still a spotty treacherous Kraut)

Interesting Spraggon or Copper for the oldies. Or will he go for someone more recent?

Thought Zeige initially, as has a great player, but the way he left has ruled him out.

Colin Cooper also played left back for a bit, but think I will go with the other one.

Terry Cooper it is.

Here are the words from our leader of the board...

I seen you asked for my favourite left back (No3)
Frank Spraggon, Boro’s 1st FAC sub, played 323 game for the Boro, scoring 3 goals his last goal at home to Millwall 1973, is up there with George Friend, IMHO, one of the best bargain buys we’ve ever had, along with his passion, & commitement, love of the club & area is a big factor, Colin Cooper, also is a big favourite of mine in probably, the most incredible period of our history, he was one of the rare players that was as good on his return to a former club, as he was in his 1st spell. Christian Ziege was as good as left back we’ve had, but he spoilt his copy book for me, so unfortunately couldn't be considered as favourite, but for me, my favourite left back had to the signing that made big Jacks team even better & more solid when big Jack made Terry Cooper his 1st cash signing when paying Leeds United £50k for his services. TC went on to make 123 appearances for the mighty Boro, scoring one goal, which was away to Liverpool in a 2-0 win, with one sending off in his Boro career, which was in his 3rd appearence away to chelsea, Boro won the game 2-1, in the summer of 78 he refused to go on a pre season tour of Norway & with a year of his contract to go was suspended & placed on the transfer list, eventually sold to Bristol City in August 1978.

As you can see. Only one person so far with a 100% record. With a couple of people just tucked in behind junos_boots.

Next position is right winger (number 7). As usual. The position is more important than the number.

As usual. Answers by 12:00 noon UK time tomorrow.

Just like the lock down, I think we are in this for a long stretch. We will certainly make it through the first 12 days of it. Closer to the time I will take advice on whether people want an Erimus74 worst 12 quiz afterwards (if he is happy to participate, of course).

I am going to go for Stuart Ripley
Another tricky one. I'm going to go for my own personal favourite....Terry Cochrane.
