Hayden Hackney

He's a class above. Love how he's took to it like he's been playing 1st team football for years. Long may his form continue

You have to seriously wonder how he never got a kick under Wilder. He must have seen him daily? Then again it's the guy who didn't fancy Smith / Forss and thought Bola was a better CB than Fry because he was left footed 🙁

Yet Leo banged him in straight away.

Agree with some of the other comments, think he fades after about 65,Howson doing the same obviously exasperates the situation.Hackney will only get stronger but lacks Howsons experience so who to sub is a difficult decision but leaving them both on after 70 looks a risk we dont have to take.

Barlaser for now should be the prime candidate to either replace a fading howson or hackney in the 2nd half

We have a real good crop of young players coming from at the moment, just hope they get opportunities like Hackney has. I do have some sympathy with Wilder, there is so much pressure on results, to throw in a young player is a big risk. Leo had nothing to lose really when he did it.

Not sure Wilder had much to lose either. The midfield was getting regularly overrun, Mowatt looked like he was running through treacle and we panic signed Luongo because of how short we were in the position.

And in his own words he wasn't playing any of youths because "they weren't ready". Not because he thought it was too risky.

It was a judgement call from wilder on Hackneys ability.
