I am also of the opinion that Southgate won't get the best out of the squad against the other favourites, but we'll get through to meet them no problem. But we should be a better team next summer than last winter. Bellingham has gone up several levels and is now on a par with Mbappe - if not better! Rice also looks a better player and is now getting Champions League experience. Saka and Foden are still young but improving. And it's hard to believe but I think Kane has also improved and will be brimming with confidence after scoring 50 goals this season (probably ).
For me England have a favourites chance, but we shouldn't overlook that we are still 4/1 so far from nailed on. If we play France in the semi or final, the game could go either way but we definitely have the tools to beat them. It's pretty much the same as if Man City come up against Real Madrid in the Champions League - it wouldn't be a shock whichever way the result went.
England have a fantastic attacking group of players to choose from and some good defenders. There is a definite weakness/lack of depth at CB and CM though but no International team has no weaknesses.
