Hamilton GOAT

I got slaughtered on here when I said its all about the car when the self proclaimed F1 experts were spunking all over Hamilton.
Now he 'can't explain lack of pace'
You need the fastest car fella. Without it you're no better than the rest.
Everyone knows you need a good car in F1 to be at the top. It's the same reason Max did nothing for 7 years and has now won every championship since the RB is the most OP car we've seen. This is not surprising given Newey is the only person on the grid to have been around previously when we had ground effect cars.

Hamilton had the best car for a few years and won races.

Now Verstappen has the best car and wins every race.

There's the difference.
RB has far more reliability. Look at the season Rosberg won as an example.

Everyone didn't know though.
Many were suggesting Hamiltons talent was more important than the car and that he'd shine anyway in a different car.
He couldn’t even keep up with rookie Russell in the second car.

Well, if they followed F1 for long enough they should do. You need both the talent and the car to reach the top. Schumacher, Vettel, Alonso & now Hamilton have all dropped down the pecking order when the car wasn't great & the same will happen to Max, unless they nail the next regulations and he leaves on a high when his contract is up in 2028. However, If you put any of those previously mentioned World Championship winners in that RB20, Max wouldn't be winning week in, week out. That is the difference.

Not true. Short memories of people on here. When he went to Mercedes in the first place did they have the “better car”.

Come on then, educate us

Reel off the list of greats who have won without the fastest car
Gretas being the key word there. It's just such a lazy and frankly sad way of bashing a driver by saying "he's in the fastest car" just shows yiu want to insult the driver but have no real evidence so you rely on an old motor racing trope

In summary - no evidence (equally there is non that I insulted the driver - I don't know him)

Man in fastest car wins race shock

A great driver can close or extend the gap. If the driver wasn’t important, the team with the best car would just hire the cheapest decent drivers available instead of paying the likes of Hamilton and Verstappen the massive salaries they do.

Hamilton was great but he's almost certainly way past his best, and with the exception of Kovalainen he's never completely battered his team mates like Max does.

If I were Ferrari I would start wondering why they have gotten rid of Sainz for Hammy.

I'm just say8ng it shows pure ignorance of the sport and a lazy lazy way to belittle the efforts of whomever

He never batters them, becasue they are good enough to go toe to toe with him. Jensen and Niko were both world champions

Checo's a pretty average driver that's why. He's been in F1 since 2011 and has only 6 wins. As mentioned above, Hamilton has beaten 3 world champions as team mates.
