Anybody else listen to his show on R6 on a Sunday afternoon?

I caught it for the first time a month or so ago, I usually listen to Jonnie Walker on R2 but I was painting the fence and didn't turn over.

I'll not be turning over again, the music he plays is right up my street.

I was always in the pub on Sunday afternoons until all this started, but since then I've been listening to Radio 6 on Sunday. Garvey's show really is excellent (though I'll be back in the pub as soon as I can).

That's why I save them up on "BBC Sounds". They're great strolling accompaniment.

He’s a very nice avuncular bear of a man, who has no edge and will go out of his way to help, loves a beer, fag, flutter and whiskey, sometimes all at the same time and on top of all that is one of the great lyricists of his generation. A national treasure.

Still got tickets for the cancelled Newcastle concerts, re-arranged to next year now.

I listened to Sunday's show while walking the streets of SE London this afternoon. His introduction to "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane was as good a piece of spoken radio as you'd ever hear.

Definitely looking forward to seeing Elbow live again.
