Grant Hall

Wood has played for two teams this season so it could only be us or Hibs.

(I think).
Yup.

So what that means is we won't be signing a CB this season and we will actively look to get one out as we have Wood back.

Peltier (emergency CB) and Bamba are in the last 6 months and at their age unlikely to find another contract, so they will stay. Fry, McNair and Dijksteel are first choice.

So Hall is the face that doesn't fit. To be honest if we can get 300k for him and replace him as 5th/6th choice CB with Wood on a much lower wage, then I would suspect that'll give a bit more wiggle room for other targets.

Hall, Browne, Fisher, Olasunya, Ameobi & Daniels all have 18 months on their contracts and won't be easy to shift especially given 3 are coming back from long term injuries and another is a non league player who has not shown anything to suggest he is any better than that level.

agree, on the plus side they've all been signed recently so their contracts won't be huge.

Hall - I'm confident someone will make an offer for him
Browne - someone will make an offer in League One, in spite of his injury. He played well for us and Oxford before it and is still fairly young
Fisher - might be a free transfer because of injuries
Ameobi - depends on his rehab, he has enough standing in the game for someone to offer IF he proves his fitness, but that's a big IF
Daniels - possibly have to loan him out until his contract runs out.

Yes but it all depends on their willingness to leave and go elsewhere for presumably less money - the player always has the option of sitting it out and taking the money, they can't be forced out.

You would like to think that any player would accept less to go somewhere else and be wanted/be able to play regularly but they call the shots these days.

At least as you say they are all recent signings so won't (shouldn't) be on high wages.

agree, but like I said most won't be on big wages, but they might also not have a squad number, as they are limited. Some might have to be loaned out until contract runs down, but at least it gets them off the wages. I just don't see any future for any of them

I agree none have a future here and should be on the first bus out, probably a few more could join them as well.

Just another big mainly useless lump like Flint though he seemed our best threat at corners when he was fit

Hopefully the new regime have learned lesson's from past recruitment mistakes, Under Woodgate we had a very young squad, under Warnock we ended up with an aging squad, under Wilder hopefully we wi end up with a more balanced squad, signs are very promising we will.

Ten days in we have one loan player that hasn’t be able to play and a U23 player. It’s not the early business Wilder will of expected is it?

Bausor doing Bausor things.

From the top 10... I'd say only Forest (Richie Laryea, Keinan Davis and Steve Cook) and Bournemouth (Ethan Laird and James Hill) have done better business than us so far in the window.
Most haven't signed anyone yet.

Is it Bausor though? I thought Kieran Scott was responsible now?

As for Balogun, he's not signed yet and anyway we couldn't expect anyone to predict he'd catch covid.

No problem with signing and U23 player either, why not plan for the future.

On the keeper front I would think it depends if he wants 3 keepers with some kind of experience, and whether he signs anyone else
If he does want to move one on then personally from what I've seen of Lumley and Daniels I'd look to move on the one on the most money - as they are much of a muchness
Olusanya , Ameobi and Fisher are injured, and Browne is just back - so those decisions (especially the 1st 3) may be delayed until the Summer
Hall seems to be available to play - and as he doesn't seem to be in Wilder's plans he's presumably also available to other teams?

Have we not signed three players? AC, CBM and the young left back from non league? Bilong??

Bilong hasn't been announced / unconfirmed. Not sure if it's actually happened or there was just a bit of interest.

I agree. Hall being (or seeming to be) available to play and still not playing with Wood and Sykes ahead of him in the cup game shows he could be gone.
I don't think he's needed anyway, we need 5 possibly 6 CBs to play a consistent 3 CB formation for the rest of the season...

Assuming our preferred three are Dijksteel McNair Fry. We also have Bamba, Peltier and Wood.
Howson can play there if really needed, and Sykes seems to be a good enough emergency cover in the U23s...
