Goode to Brentford

It's still early days but everyday I'm getting a little more frustrated. I just want to see some progression and ambition but it seems like Warnock's not being backed. Keep telling myself to be patient but Boro being Boro, we'll start the season with only signed Grand Hall and goalkeeping coach.

The reality starting to hit home more like. We can no longer compete in the transfer market because our owner does not want throw money at it.

This is the way football in general will go but it will take a high profile club or two to bust before realising clubs can no longer sustain the business model in the championship. The reason I see the EFL not taking strong lines with the likes of Derby is that they are frightened to death the structure will collapse inwards. Which it still might.

We're trying to spend more than the £1m they wanted on this Joe Williams.

We spent £1m on an unnecessary keeper in January.

Seems more like this is the club thinking they can get him for less, and then missing out because another club didn't **** about, rather than we couldn't afford it.

I'm not sure why anyone is melting down. I doubt they have seen him play and he's 25 and unheard of until post lockdown.

We maybe pulled out weeks ago. He maybe the next John Terry.... Or he the next Fint😕. Time will tell. That said Brentford usually do ok in the market so probably to City for 30mil next summer😂

I imagine Brentford will blow a few teams away in terms of wages and spending power. They are probably gonna get 40-50mil in sales cuming in from the front 3 (good luck replacing them).

Also they missed out on promotion by a whisker and play good stuff. We were awful so hardly a great 'selling point' if he had to choose between the two.

Steve probably still loses sleep after the Gary Monk spendfest . With that and the current footy climate he’s bound to be more frugal . Give them time and then we ( the experts of course ) can judge

Fee was £1.5m apparently. Jepson or Blackwell had seen him up close when they were at Northampton. It’s clear we wanted him but didn’t want to pay the fee.

seems strange and possibly a false economy given we had a bid if £2m or thereabouts accepted for Moore - I’d argue CB is a more pressing need than a target man striker

doesn’t feel like money was the issue, more our inability to properly value a player and close a deal

Maybe... just maybe, we have a budget of say-£8m and we know we need 5 players and on of that 5 costs north of £3m. This would mean overspending on one or two means jeopardising the whole plan?

Definitely not melting down! Like most just want to see some action whilst trying to be patient. Hopefully Warnock has got a few unknown gems lined up
