For me the first two 3 albums were absolutely amazing, and their whole image and ethos was one that appealed to a teenage me. Everything Must Go signalled the start of the downfall for me, and I suspect some other fans from the early days, although Journal for Plagued Lovers was a welcome return to form (all songs written by Richey though).
That's not to say I haven't liked the odd song from the other albums, just that they're not as exciting and raw as when I first loved them, and they're still a cracking live band, and seem like decent fellas too.
