Good Morning Britain

I don't have any strong feelings towards Morgan whatsoever. He's just a pantomime clown to wind up daft liberals. I'm despairing at the macho idiocy that purports to be journalism. Of course you feel anger. That's the intention. To get you angry and to keep you watching. To get clicks on websites. Spouting vacant numbers. It's not helpful in the slightest. It doesn't give any information. It doesn't shine any light on the subject. I don't give a damn if some public school **** can't remember a couple of numbers.
Each to their own.

I quite like him TBH, I can understand why many dislike him & can understand the comments about shouting & just over talking the people who are being interviewed but when he's on form & you want to see that person thoroughly grilled then, IMHO, he's the best at it

You may not care that one of our leaders does't "remember" a number. I personally do, but that is not what made me angry, it was not knowing how many careworkers had died, and I might add, almost all of them were avoidable if given the right equipment, it was arguing with Morgan because he was put under pressure, and the shell cracked a little and he used the word statistic, because that is what he, and other members of this government, see the huge death toll as, a statistic. That is why I am angry, nothing to do with the question, nor the manner in which it was asked.

Whilst I agree with what a lot of what you’re saying, I disagree about the importance of having the detail, including numbers, if you are organised and have the figures it indicates you know what you are doing and are on top of the situation.

For too long politicians get too comfortable spouting out their rehearsed lines and soundbites. The best journalists like I said are the ones who call them out on what they say and hold them accountable for their failures. As much as I do like Andrew Marr and even Fiona Bruce, they never push them harder and whenever they do, it is always half arsed.

What Piers said to the care minister about these numbers aren't just a statistic and yesterday with the NI minister about the total number of people tested proves the point of how underprepared and incompetent these people really are. Maybe you don't like the way he comes across with his tone towards politicians, but it is the only effective way in getting the message across to them on how pathetic they have handled this crisis. MPs and government ministers are public servants and are handsomely paid for it, they deserve criticism whenever it is justified.

I dislike Morgan immensely, always have done.
What is more contemptible though is anyone running anything where people who are working for them are dying - and not caring enough to know numbers.
We have had
Hancock early - on 4 doctors and ‘some nurses; have died. ‘Some’ FFS
Then asked later at 17.00 briefing passed the question to a health official who also didn’t know
And then this that got Morgan shouting

People don’t like ‘shouty Morgan but seem relaxed at the behaviour of the person on the other end.

🤭

That poll is gaining some traction on twitter this morning, will be interesting to see how the rest of the twitterverse reacts when they see it on their timelines.

As someone said to me the other day (kind of tongue in cheek) about him.
This guy seems to be the one everyone respects. It has come to something when the guy who was cool about the PM shaking hands with virus ridden patients is now our ‘go to’ leader.

What that chart tells us is that outside of the NHS we don't really trust our leadership. I thought Chris Witty comes across quite well. He seems to care albeit I am sure he is leashed in terms of what he can and cannot say.

Can't stand Morgan. I find his approach to "holding politicians to account" is nothing more than shouting over them. Whilst that is perhaps momentarily satisfying it is not really achieving anything other than a bref spectacle.

Doing the job properly would show through a calm logical disection how the politicians have failed us. Shouting over the top of them might be uncomfortable but just lets them off the hook ultimately. Hence why you are still seeing a succession of willing "victims".

Just because a complete **** espouses a cause that you believe in doesn't mean that you need to re-assess that person and in my opinion Morgan should not be on national TV, it should not be forgotten his role in the phone hacking carried out when he was editor of the Daily Mirror and publishing forged pictures purporting to show British soldiers abusing prisoners. In short he is still an **** and he isn't achieving anything of note.

"Piers Morgan says women send him their knickers in the post. Presumably with the message 'From one tw*t to another.'” Frankie Boyle

....... he's not wrong either
