Good game just unlucky

Not particularly bad. We’re not a million miles off where we were. Trust carrick. We’ll have the players we need in next couple of weeks

Playing Rogers upfront felt more like Carrick was making a point, rather than he thinks he's better than an unfit Coburn or an out-of-position Forss up top.
 
Best team won. I’m feeling a lot less positive about the season than I was this morning. Clearly wheeling and dealing to be done.
 
A million miles away from last seasons performances,why all of a sudden are we so slow on the transition?,last season 70% of our attacks came down the left today nothing.Does Barlaser ever get sick of giving the ball away? .Morgan is he a false number 9 or an invisible one?.
 
I wasn’t particularly impressed by Millwall thought Watmore played well though.

We really sterile in attack, just passing at times for the sake of passing.

The corner situation was a good example of that.
 
Your expectation levels are on the floor if you think that was a good game, two poor teams, they sat off and played the classic counter attack which worked, we would have beat them 3-0 when we were in our pomp last season, today we couldn’t even force their keeper into making a save. We looked like a team of 11 water carriers waiting for the better players to take the game to the opposition which happened somewhat when howson came on.
 
We were awful. Ponderous in midfield, toothless up front and very easily pulled about at the back. The only positive is if we have 3 or 4 Prem loans lined up to turn us back into the side we were 2nd half of last season.
 
Awful game. We were as i expected us to be - toothless and prone to errors at the back. Our team build up play was ponderous, which worryingly was also a problem for us at the end of last season with far better attacking players in the line up. As it stands we will be mid table at best. Millwall were no great shakes but they had us just where they wanted us and took their chance when it came. Us on the other hand offered nothing and wouldn’t have scored if we’d played till midnight. We’ve had three months to sort signings out and delivered nothing of note. The squad is no better now than last season, in fact it’s far worse because our premier league loans are no longer here, and it shows.
We need a right and left full back, at least one centre forward and another ball winning midfielder to be anywhere near top six. Three weeks to sort things out or it’s going to be one damp squib of a season !
