Golf putter advice

I have three putters but a friend needs one for a home putting mat (not to play seriously) so I’m going to give one away, I would like to know if any are seen as “better” than others, especially a beginner like me - I realise my own skill level and liking/feel of a club plays a part of course!

I have played most with the Donnay as it was from my own old set, but the other 2 have more sentimental value as they were my late fathers, but I would be willing to part with one as I have many happy reminders of him, including many other golf clubs.

I’m not selling them so price tag is less relevant, I doubt any are worth much anyway. Any help appreciated!

Keep the one that feels best for you and let him try the other two.
I notice one is face balanced and they are better suited to a straight back straight through putting stroke.

Thank you, I’ll definitely keep the one that feels best and a second as a spare - I certainly need to get out a practice with them a bit more before I make a fully informed decision. The lad I’m giving one to really doesn’t mind what he gets as it’s just for occasional home use so i’m looking for anything that helps tip the balance with which one I give away.

I think both the Donnay and the Zebra are face balanced and the Zebra feels most comfortable so I’m edging towards that, with the Donnay maybe being the one to go.

None of those putters are worth anything so there's no right/wrong answer. Give him whichever you don't use.

If you don't want to part with any then there are always putters going for next to nothing on Facebook marketplace

Cheers, yeah I didn’t expect them to have any value other than two having a bit of sentimental worth. It was just in case there was a particular one that might have had something over the others, but as that isn’t the case I’ll just see which one works best when I play and then pick a backup. We’re not in the UK so can’t get one off FB as easily, but I’m happy to part with one anyway. Thanks again for the advice, much appreciated.

Why not just lease it to him for 12 months for a small fee. Either that or put in a 'give back' clause to your gifting arrangment to cover the fact it turns out to be a sensational putter.

Haha I doubt any putter I own will ever be sensational! He’s a good lad so he’s more than welcome to a freebie for his home putting green 👍🏻

Keep the Zebra. They are good putters. If you remove the sole plate you'll find some washers in there. Take them out when playing fast greens in the summer, put them back for slow wet greens in the winter. It will help you to get the right pace.
