Looking for suggestions for golfing holiday abroad, companies to use and I'm open minded where to go.

Wanting to go abroad for 5- 7 nights, not done this before so really looking for a bit of advice, don't want to spend loads, more on a budget.
Thanks in advance.

I believe spanishman lives right next to a golf course.

Belek - end of thread.

Carya and Monty are top class. The other courses are not as good but would make top 10% of UK courses.

All the usual suspects you can book. Ask them to tailor your needs. Play different courses every day. Also plan 1 rest day in the middle. Don’t stick to 4 rounds at Faldo etc

If it's definitely abroad then the best two value places are Turkey and Morocco. Spain and Portugal have more destinations but they tend to be more expensive.

Turkey - Belek is the place. Loads of massive hotels with loads of courses. Bilyana ( owned by Turkish tourist board) is a good organiser but you'll probably have to book flights yourself. Good hotels are Titanic, Cornelia Diamond and Gloria. Also try Golf Kings, they get good deals.

Morocco - the main areas are Marrakech, with desert style courses, or the Atlantic coast round Agadir. Try Golf Kings or Your Golf Travel or Par 5 Escapes.

I'd say Ginger Travel was pretty good 😉

So an interesting suggestion (there are plenty closer, Portugal, Morocco etc) but if you can cope with a 12 hour flight from London, the Constance Hotel Group has 2 European Seniors Tour courses in Mauritius which are free for hotel guests! You pay for a buggy unless you're on an all inclusive rate. So if you were going to play every day, it's worth considering (you'd need at least 7 nights because of the flight) and it's surprisingly not that expensive. My son's and I played last summer and had a great time.

But on a lower budget closer by, a package at somewhere like Hilton Istantilla (fly to Faro, just over an hour's drive) might be a worthwhile option. The Algarve courses are closer to Faro Airport but expensive.

A week for 4 guys in the Western Algarve would cost about:

£200 each flights inc golf clubs
£150 each for 2 twin bedroom apartment around Lagos
£100 each mini van rental
£300 for 5 rounds of golf at Penina, Boavista, Palmeras, vale de Pinta, Gramacho

Heaven on earth

Agree with JRDP.

Belek without doubt the best option. We use Bilyana travel, not the cheapest but they’re top notch. Cheaper alternatives Cyprus or Marrakesh, both very good but not the quality or options that Belek offers.

Is this something you would book on your own individually Tommo.

If you can get those deals, set up in the golf travel business. I tried to book a week in the Algarve in May for 16 and couldn't get the price under £1500 per head.

I go to constance belle plage in may to play golf for wifeys 50th really looking forward to it we are all inclusive so golf is free😎 hoping to get some fishing in as well

not a golfer myself but we were in tenerife staying in golf de sur last year and that course looked lovely. windy as fook mind you!

Yes I do. It it completely full every morning at the moment. With players from frozen parts of northern Europe. Will be like that until after Easter.

What time of year are you planning on having the holiday?
Sorry, it's not me who is looking to play golf, it is Red76.

I love watching golf but have never really played it.

I'm flexible really, trying to talk four lads into going Golfing, all play golf but have a feeling it might work out too expensive for some, and end up opting for just lads non golfing holiday.
