Glass bottles Homebrew

Hi everyone. I'm venturing to the world of homebrew and was wondering if you guys know of anywhere in the Teesside area where I can get glass bottles for free.
I've been to a few supermarket car parks and the glass bottle facilities seem to have vanished . Only clothing bins seem to be left these days.

I have around 25 bottles at present and don't really want to pay 85 p per brand new empty bottle.

Thank you..

If you are willing to go to a bottle bank, why not go to a pub and ask them if they have any?

Is it for beer / wine ? How many bottles are you after. I make Homebrew and may have some spare.

Best yet 🤣

Thank you so much for the brilliant suggestions !!!!

I went in a blue bin scavenge earlier and managed to get 26 beer bottles in the space of about 10 minutes , so this is the way forward for me I reckon.

@Lightweight. Thank you very much for the very kind offer of the bottles , but ibthinknin going to be inundated using the blue box system mate..

I've currently got a 'Woodforde wherry amber ale' and a 'Muntons coniesseur Pilsner ' in their fermentation bins brewing away nicely.

A friend of mine showed me how to go on and I seem to have unexpectedly found a new hobby.... even though I'm not a massive drinker to be honest

When I madethe old home brew I used about 40 old bottles of Bombardier which I'd drank. Newcy Brown bottles would have been much better as they are clear glass. Bombardier bottles were brown glass so i couldn't fully see through to see if bottles were fully clean before filling

If you find you get into homebrewing, its worth investing in a pressure barrel that has a top for a co2 cylinder. So much easier than farting around sterilising and capping bottles, and avoids having he mess when teh odd bottle expldes it caps off because it got a bit gassy.. Available from all good online home brew websites.....

I'm actually quite looking forward to bottling day and have a fair idea what to expect as I've helped my mate bottle up a few weeks ago . I think it's all about organisation in your work area.

I've bought a bottle squirty rinser and bottle tree already so I'm almost there really. When I was in Exeter last Wednesday morning I walked round a few charity shops and saw a pressure barrel , fermenting bin, 2 demijohns and a few grolsch type bottles for 15 quid and almost bit , but in time I might get the pressure barrel.

@Lightweight. Adding things is something I want to try in the future if all goes well with the brews, and I'll keep you posted on how things go.

At present the bottles are ready for consumption on the 16th December.. hic🍻

If you're using clear glass bottles make sure once filled you keep them out of direct sunlight.

And for god's sake don't even think about putting them in the fridge!
