With arguments like that, you could be Hopesoboro....It's wrong to be disappointed? Unless you have a solution, yes
My only issue is that he's spoken more there in an article about 'Project Big Picture' than he has about Middlesbrough Football Club combined in the last five years.
Perhaps SG knows what it's like and takes to run a football club, he has put in millions upon millions of pounds into a club.
Perhaps SG see's the bigger picture, he knows how much a club means to its town or city and he knows the reality of being on the brink, self interest yes but perhaps he is also thinking of all the other clubs too, who in a very short time may no longer exist and in the absence of any real alternative perhaps he's right.

I am torn. I have been a big critic of Gibsons since he finally threw Karanka under the bus in January 2017. To be honest It was before even that, for his meddling in recruitment. Leaving all that aside I genuinely believed he had the clubs best interest at heart and his mistakes were with genuine honesty and the self interest of the club rather than himself.
Whilst we all speculate with no real insight, and pure guess work based on what we know, see and feel, I do think he has changed and become more introverted. His dream was our dream. He had the money and the focus to deliver something special and was rightly lauded for it. In 2006 he realised his model was not sustainable in the long term and the divergence began. Slowly but surely the division between hope and reality widened. Mr Gibsons personal life has changed. His influencers have therefore changed, his priorities have changed. We all go through the process of change in life too, it is normal. He is a businessman and money is a factor for him that affects his personal life, our affiliation with the club does not have that millstone other than the SC money.
That said, his support for the sell out seems short-termism. It feels dirty. He really needs to come out and tell us why, be honest, be open, something he seems to shy away from these days. I get the feeling he has lost his mojo. Whether it is his new life post divorce or just natural evolution or personal self interest or something else, I don’t know, but his silence on so many areas is widening the chasm between him and the clubs fans imho. I would far sooner hear the gritty truth, no matter how unpalatable, than be left to speculate and form assumptions. Only by debating the problems and understanding the issues will the people regain the trust of those responsible for administering our beloved clubs and the nations favourite sport. My glass is not even half empty anymore mind.
I stopped reading after you said he threw Karanka under the bus in January. Absolute tosh.
It isn’t. Followed up by the hatchet job on Orta (Gibson’s idea and gift) and all things Spanish in the Gazette and BBC Tees.I stopped reading after you said he threw Karanka under the bus in January. Absolute tosh.
Coluka I agree with most of what you say but you issue a plea to him to “come out and tell us why”. Hasn’t he in effect done that? Don’t get me wrong I disagree with the whole idea as much as you do and this present plan will in all likelihood be rejected today by the emergency meeting of the PL. According to the Times apparently 14 clubs are definitely against.
That said is Gibson preparing for what may well happen before too long and that without restructure of the game we will see mass clubs folding. If the Government don’t step in to support these clubs we will have no say in what then happens.
