Giants v Dodgers — MLB Playoffs

I'm currently still watching the Rays game, but will switch over in a moment, as this one is almost certainly done and dusted. Don't have a preference between Giants or Dodgers, but in all sports I have to choose a side to support otherwise I get bored, so I'll probably pick whichever team has the better looking uniform.

I follow the Giants — nice stadium also. Great camaraderie during the playoffs games in SF — super expensive mind you but attending one or two games is a great experience.

Despite Giants winning the division I just get the feeling the Dodgers have experience and perhaps better pitching on their side.

I chose the Giants tonight as I've been to both SF and LA, and I marginally preferred SF (although I didn't love either). Both teams had nice uniforms. And that's genuinely the extent of my thinking whenever I'm watching two random teams and I have to choose one to root for

My brother-in-law and his Texan girlfriend were at the Astros game today, but they're conflicted now, as they've booked to fly to Chicago for game 4 and are now left hoping that their team loses game 3 otherwise their trip will be wasted.

The Giants and Dodgers have the two best records in baseball this season. They are the two best teams by some way.

That's not to say that either will win the World Series but it's a shame they are meeting now and not in the National League Championship Series. They are both in the NL west so for them to meet in post season play requires a particular end of season standings to happen.

It's a shame, it's one of the great rivalries in sport.

Sausages are sooo good in “Chicagi” so you have to go!!

Sadly the way the Sox are playing they're gonna be swept in 3. I have a work colleague desperate to get two playoff games in so she too is praying for a Sox win.

Must admit, since moving from DC to Chicago I've been drawn to the White Soxs rather than the Nats, but my only experience of playoff playoff baseball was at the Nats in 2017. Amazing atmosphere. Hopefully Guaranteed Rate Field will be bouncing and they can tie the series and force a trip back to Houston.

pitching masterclass from both teams tonight — with the Giants coming out on top 1-0. This series is (maybe) going to the final game. Dodgers had the chance to tie it up with a few opportunities but the Giants held firm with some excellent defensive stops.

The Game 3 loss is the Dodgers' first with Scherzer on the mound. They'd been a perfect 12-0 (11-0 in the regular season plus the NL Wild Card Game) in his starts prior to last night. I think Giants will take it this evening.

Fan of both the Giants and the A's, although been to many more Giants games to avoid the schlep across to Oakland. I used to live a 1 minute walk from the AT&T (now Oracle) Park, but first got into baseball when I first moved to the US and the Cubs were in the WS - they'd not won it for 108 years and it reminded me very much of our trip to Cardiff in the Carling Cup. Sat in 21st Ammendment, overlooking the ballpark, day after day and having other drinkers explain the rules to me.

To expats point, I think the only place in the world I've ever baulked at the price of a drink is the Giants ballpark, where you'd pay $14 for a bottle of **** water like Bud Light.

Am a fan of the As. On my trips with work to San Fran it always seemed to coincide with a home game for the As and not the Giants. Used to take the BART across the bay to Oakland to the Coliseum. Never got into the Giants but hope they win this time.

Incredible game tonight with Dodgers just doing enough to win the Series — in the end I had always predicted that the Dodgers had too much pitching for the Giants — and so it proved although it came down to a ninth inning bad pitch maybe 🤔. Dodgers go on to play Atlanta where they should do the business but strange things happen in the Title games.

Strange things happen in all playoff series. You would have got very long odds on Tampa and Milwaukee both losing in the DS games.

So Boston - who haven't looked particularly good take on Houston while the Dodgers face the Braves. What are the odds on an all Wild Card World Series?

The Dodgers - who were the second best team in regular season play - should retain the WS but who knows what might happen?
