George Floyd - Leaked bodycam footage

Saw one reported the other day a motorcycle had been stolen & recovered months ago but the Police computer hadn't been updated. A minivan with an out of state plate pings the cops APNR as the stolen motorcycle.
Police do a 'hot stop', force the vehicle to stop & all occupants out of the car at gun point, face down on the road & cuffed while they sort it out. Turns out it was just a mum & her three children on a day out, youngest 6 years old wearing a pink crown.

The Chief of Police said 'Hot Stops' aren't police policy, officers have discretion to do a normal stop but can do one when they've identified a suspected threat from the vehicle.

I wonder what it was about a mum & her three kids that made the officers think it was required in this situation?

It starts like a game of simon says...

Lemme see your hands, put them on the wheel, put them on your head...

I've been pulled over by an american cop, albeit on a naval base but it's very intimidating (as it should be to encourage compliance) so I can understand a black guy with previous being concerned for his safety...

Hes a big unit to be stuffed in the back of the car then dragged out... was he really resisting?...

Its started a chain reaction now, I just hope they can learn from this...

Learn from it, the policemen involved should be in jail. On the same subject until they have radical gun reform innocent people will continue to be murdered by the police.

It should be intimidating, what a crock

This one:

I've been pulled over by police in the US many times.

I've even been to jail but that's another story.

They have ranged from intimidating to friendly. They're usually friendly when they hear the English accent (and see that I'm white)

And innocent police will get killed by criminals with guns. It’s a vicious circle.
The video is sickening however and the officers should rightly face the brunt of the law.
They police by force in America, that’s why it’s intimidating, otherwise it doesn’t work.
Over here we police by consent and infact the whole justice system is stacked in favour of the criminal

Imagine waking up every day facing the possibility that a legally gun owning nutter might have had one too many illegal drugs and decide his hallucination is real and take a shot at you.

As I try to reason this through if I was a law enforcement officer in the states and a suspect did not do what I asked him to at more than one time of asking I would not hesitate to withdraw my weapon. Mainly because
there is a high probability that person is armed and under great stress.

The main perpetrator is in jail and will rightly get a long sentence for his indefensible crime - just so I am clear on that
