Has anybody noticed how very few comments are applied to any of the Gazette’s storylines nowadays.

Once there would be dozens of comments for each report.
Nowadays maybe 2 or 3 are posted.

I think they have made a big mistake in making it difficult to comment.
I imagine folk have just had enough so don’t even bother now.

The end is near !.

Dont people now just comment on their Facebook posts rather than the actual website ?

I don’t know, I don’t bother with facebook.
Too many skeletons and ex’s in the cupboard.

Does anybody look at the Gazette web site/app these days? It's impossible to read anything for the mass of adverts.

You are right, its ridiculous.
I also believe the Gazette hierarchy are burying their heads in the sand by making it difficult to comment on anything but in particular.....them.

I will give the Gazette 2 years. Then byeee.

Not surprised really given that most articles on the website were infested by multiple usernames that just reregistered every time they got banned, going on about immigration and foreigners all the time. Facebook comments on the same articles were always far more balanced because generally not people hiding behind a username.

Given they are making severe cuts, it makes sense they don’t want to police a load of racists and bigots making libellous claims when Facebook will do that for them on articles posted there via the report function.

It’s also nothing to do with the gazette, all reach plc (mirror etc) use the same system.

I've been banned off there a few times and I remember arguing with someone on the old board about a year or so ago. When I said it's tripe, and it wasn't local anymore because everything went through the Liverpool centre first, and he argued saying it had nothing to do with Liverpool and it was all local.
