Gavin & Stacey

Oh guys and gals, that was TV perfection. As the noise of the reveal coming down the stairs I screamed Dave Coaches. It was perfect. I knew that the wedding planning had to be Sonia not Nessa. I absolutely loved it. Nessa and Smithy deserve to be together. The wedding stand up was perfection. I am not ashamed to admit I cried ffs.

The best TV series there has ever been (sorry Del and Rodders) I can truly accept closure though and i loved every character with a passion. The fishing trip non disclosure was genius…….. again..

Not sure it’s as good as The Jolly’s Boys Outing when the coach blew up, Del Boy bottling the tap water in the kitchen, and stealing the diamonds in Amsterdam, and eventually flogging a watch and becoming a millionaire but perhaps that’s because we are all that little bit older now?

It was a programme I was never massively into but I was so invested in that ending.

Loved it

Felt dated, the style feels forced and I thought the writing of it was diabolical. Fell asleep after 45 mins mind

I was disappointed with it 🤦🏻‍♂️
Thought the first hour was dross. Last half hour revived it a bit.

I've just watched all the episodes again through December and absolutely loved them. Didn't feel like tonight's lived up to the previous episodes.

The last half hour did sort of close it off nicely but the 2019 episode was miles better and they could have left it there.
Maybe I’ll have watch what I missed

Enjoyed it a lot

The music was great too
Pleased for Stephen Fretwell that they ended with one of his - he could do with the royalties.

Glad everyone enjoyed it.

I have never really warmed to it - largely because I (ridiculously) hold it responsible for there being no more early doors. BBC bigwigs showing their Southern bias when it comes to slow, character driven comedies with few jokes!

Not going to lie, I thought it was going to be d*ck Powell

Thought it was really good and I’m not a big fan of the show, think it’s ok but thought the build up was well over the top, especially when before it came on they called it “one of the biggest cliffhangers in television history” :ROFLMAO:
The comment above about Neil the Baby is a bit creepy unless I’ve misunderstood, actor looked like a kid.

It was very hyped. I don’t consider it to be one of the true greats like Fawlty Towers, OFAH, The Office, Father Ted etc.

But considering the hype I thought it was decent. It’s always been a solid 7/10 show and last night was in line with that IMHO.

Brilliant.
I did guess Dave Coaches.
I was finding the chase to Southampton daft as everyone must’ve been saying, “why didn’t they just phone Nessa” but they did recover that eventually.
Very emotional in places.

This thread has a number of wannabe Grinches as expected.

There has always been a number of people who think it is cool to put down popular entities whether it be tv programmes like this or music like ‘Last Christmas’ etc. It is fine to genuinely not like something, that is not the issue.

It is when people make that extra effort needed to criticise something that is popular that stands out, a desire to be seen as different and cool when in reality, they’re just misogs.

I thought it was a very good ending. Tied up everything as expected, some surprises along the way but the ending was as expected. The characters got to be the characters, nobody was missed out. They acknowledged that they'd all got older and things had changed and they did that well.

I've always hated Corden but I do like Smithy.
