Gary Lineker being reined in

What I find more hurtful is the fact his comment is still there to be read and hasn’t been taken down by the admin on this board.

If it is ok to call immigrants 'savages,’ where do we draw the line?
Get off this guys back he saying what three quarters of the country are thinking only reason brexit went though

Nothing will happen. He's done nothing other than upset the racists which is fine by me.
Well either way it feels like tensions between him and the BBC are on the rise. I do wonder if he might resign at some point, this won’t be the end of it, there very well may be more tweets. As I said above, I wouldn’t be surprised if the BBC want him off the wage bill anyway, his salary is a constant source of criticism.

Well he is contracted until 2025, by which point he'll be approaching 65. I doubt he'd be bothered if they didn't renew.

If they fancy giving him some more money they could always try and discipline him.

The BBC are going to have a bit of a job with charging him with impartiality (even if it applied to him) when the Chairman of the BBC is linked to Boris Johnson being loaned a million dollars when he was Prime Minister.
Of course. It could be more like a mutual parting of ways. Maybe not now but in a year or so.

Because he has broken the strict impartiality rules that all BBC employees have to obey. Only a matter of time now for jug ears.
He doesn’t need to be impartial at all, he is a football pundit.

But since you are so keen for impartiality, why didn’t I see you commenting on the chair of the bbc arranging a loan for Boris Johnson? Isn’t that more of a breach than someone expressing an opinion on Twitter?

When the government is admitting this is breaching international law but your outrage is what an ex footballer said on his own personal Twitter account, your priorities are in the wrong order
