Furlough money goes to the BNP, Saudi Royals, Tax Exiles.

Jim Ratcliffe claimed £175000 I see. And he’s just spent £20m on a failed attempt to win the America’s Cup. Is the world going mad?

Its worth a few greedy tories abusing the system, as usual, so long was those who need it get sorted.
I have to say that I really dislike tories and their horrible ways but I think the furlough scheme was a surprisingly good socialist policy. my company benefitted a lot from other grants to help.

I am sure the tories will get back on form when it comes to who foots the bill.....not the likes of jim ratcliffe, i am sure

The consequence of making a quick and easy to implement policy is that it cannot contain the subtleties that would ensure it would only go to those that the reporters, in this case the Guardian, deem worthy. I'm sure all those who benefited from timely payouts are content and more so that they didn't have to wait or go through onerous checks and balances to receive a payout; even if it meant some of the "undeserving" got some too.

I'd say it was their employees who benefitted by keeping their jobs. The greed of the rich people mentioned would mean that money would never have come from their pocket in any circumstances, so they'd have just laid the employees off.

Furlough is a job retention scheme, and it's a fact many of the companies who used it and their owners could well have supported the cost themselves but didn't - which might be morally abhorrent, but there's no denying by asking the tax payer to, jobs were retained.

We won't be able to do much about the likes of Ratcliffe and big business who's clients are other businesses looking for the best deal, but when the big shakedown comes, a lot of these companies rely on the public, and we should remember who took the **** when we're choosing where we spend our money.

All the schemes put forward whilst seemingly generous we’re always open to abuse. I remember Mrs beckham piling in at the start only to be publicly shamed into repaying the money that she claimed.as any policy im sure it’s hard to find a one size fits all but some of these schemes are questionable and open to abuse - as mentioned even if not illegal just morally wrong to be taking money if you do not need it or can afford to pay your staff yourself but choose to use this scheme instead.

other schemes Bounce Back loans - I have a friend who is a property developer - they are constantly looking for funding and need to pay high interest as banks generally won’t lend to them - he has about 5 companies and now has about half a million in low interest bounce back loans with a years grace period - and if it all goes wrong he will just default as the schemes are guaranteed by the gvt. I think lots o f peole will have taken these loans with the intention of not paying them back.

grants for the self employed I have a friend who is an architect who is getting £7500 in grants every three months - I’m sure he is still working throughout maybe less but he certainly doesn’t need 7500 every three months.

not that I’m bitter but I am an it contractor and fell into group that fell between the cracks being able to claim zero pounds fir the last year.

I just find all the schemes have been rushed an and have gaping loopholes which are being abused and at the end of the day it’s is the taxpayer that is covering all of this.
