Hello all. Some of you may have heard of the Ali Brownlee Social Club I host / throw together from Base Camp Boro. It's quite a simple way of connecting Middlesbrough / Teesside together in person and across the world. Regular features include hook ups with Teesside ex-pats across the world; gourmet crisp sandwich making with Ben Taylorson; I wanna go home - analysing why Teessiders have an aversion to a number of rival clubs; They Don't Right Them Like That Anymore - songs of teessiders and One Of Our Own - where we pay tribute and tell stories of 'characters' that have defined teesside.
We started that with Astor Garriques, Mouth of the Tees last time and then selected Frankie Bam Bam for next Wednesday's show, (6pm before the England match on Wednesday)...
And so... I hesitate to ask this... does anyone have a story about Frankie they'd like to share with me on here - or even better on the show via zoom or if you wanted, live at Base Camp where we have a sold out audience for the event. I've spoken to Frankie Jr and he has given his blessing to talk abut his Dad.
Cheers. Mike
