Forss

He's not a #9.
He's never been a #9
He'll never be a #9

He's a good option for us at RW and he's a goal threat.

He's coming back from a lengthy time out so will be very raw and will need games.

He shouldn't be judged on today's game after being thrown on, early, in a position he's not great at.

Can’t believe the bloke is getting criticised. It’s the first time he’s played more than half an hour of football all season!
After nothing more than a few brief late minutes here and there, of course he’s rusty and not yet up to speed!

He's been out for a long time and isn't match fit.
IMO he's not a leading the line and lone striker.
If he plays down the middle - I would say, he needs to be part of a two - but it will be a cold day in hell before we set up with a front two.
He's only likely to get decent game time on the right if Doak gets injured.
I would say - a loan is probably in his best interests!

Ridiculous comments criticising him. The issue is we didn’t have a fully fit back up up front and we suffered for Lath’s departure early. That’s not Forss’ fault. Felt a bit sorry for him that he was asked to perform for 75 minutes plus after such a long layoff.

He won’t start against Sunderland but he needs game time coming on for 20-25 minutes to go.

If he hits the winner next Monday and shows his cheeky smiley face, all will be forgotten. He was unlucky yesterday.

When he was successful two seasons ago he was almost the 'under the radar' player with Akpom and Archer occupying the defenders' thoughts. He'd find space slightly wide of the play as a result and could finish from that position.

Totally different expecting him to play in the centre when not fully fit and firing up against a couple of decent Championship defenders.

Do we not play people in the reserves to get back to match fitness or are overaged players not permitted?

Everyone remembers Juninho's come back when 20K+ turned up against Bradford

There's no such thing as the reserves anymore. Just the u21s. You can play overage players in the u21s though. I think it might be a limit of 4.

Fry and Forss have both played in the u21s this season to get fitness. Not sure if any others have.

The problem we have is that we are generally desperate for our players to get back that we rush it. Conway wasn't ready last night clearly but with Lath gone we needed him. Forss still doesn't really look ready either.

He is not a number 9, certainly not in Carricks system. Would play better up top in a traditional 4-4-2

He has undoubted quality in the box, good movement and good finishing (usually), however he offers very little outside of this, and often looks like a fish up a tree.

It's why Carrick played him as a hard working RW, protecting his full back out of possession and drifting in to the box when in possession, where defenders were unable to pick him up.

Think it’s shown Forss is not a centre forward in a 4-2-3-1 system. He could probably do that in a 3-5-2 or even 4-4-2.

Last night he really should have scored to make it 2-0. No guarantee that will have impacted the match of course, but he’ll be disappointed.
