I'm sure on the way to the game on Monday Maddo mentioned that he hoped the wingbacks wouldn't be sitting in to make it a 5. He said he wanted them to push forward, making us more attacking given that the opposition we were against.

I fairness, there has been a change in approach the last few games. Carrick mentioned it post-match on Monday. If we had centre backs available it probably would have been 3-5-2 at Southampton too.
