Forgotten Footballers of Yesteryear

None of them have been forgotten, they’re all mentioned here.

Now, if you’re talking about that short midfielder with big sideburns who chased about like a dog in misfit or dynamo dresden in the 70s then maybe….you know the one, big tache and blonde hair. Was just a tackler, no skill, big thighs……can picture him, clear as day but can I bolllocks remember his name. Might have been Deiter, or Gunter , our was it Uli….?

Criminally underrated/forgotten about. A sublime footballer who was one of the best in the world for a time.
Without doubt. A brilliant player often forgot in the Real Madrid team that put Man United out at Old Trafford. Understandable as the original Ronaldo scored a hattrick and was applauded off the pitch.

Julio Baptista, if I remember rightly he played as a defensive midfielder then went to Sevilla and they played him as a centre forward.

Two Evertonians: a) Brian Labone and b) Keith Newton. a) spoiled my set of some chewing gum cards by his absence and b) was missing from the set of ESSO 1970 World Cup coins I buried in a time capsule (paint tin) that got dug up by some ar$e three days later.

Joke's on you Mr No Keith.
