For the Covid nerds - lots of data

If there was no herd immunity people would be re catching CV19 by now.

If we said 8 million people in the UK (12%) have had CV19 - how many of those 8 million have had it twice or even three times?

Personally I haven't seen any stories about people in the UK testing postive twice say with a 2 week gap in between.

The NERVTAG summary looking at the new strain of the virus looked at 914 positive cases. They concluded that 5 of those were probable reinfections. I was surprised the figure was so high.

There's immunity, no doubt about that, but not herd immunity, they're very different.

Only about 10% have had it when I last looked (but 12% now sounds reasonable), that's not enough to effect the stats and prevent second waves, as proven by the UK, Sweden, Belgium etc. Think we need about 75% for herd immunity.

Don't get me wrong, the 12% will "stop" some infections in their tracks, but it's not going to have a massive difference on the R number.

Just running with the absurdity of that chart for a moment, it's yet another indication of how badly Sweden has mishandled the virus, given their high proliferation of metal bands.
You are right and have helped unearth the Covid rationale - I had no idea they had so many
Just googled and there is a site which lists the top 15 Swedish Metal Bands :)
'Opeth' being the best of all time

There bloody is, The cathedral is sat on one  There's the area of the bars too at the top (Bailgate/ High Street), which I used to fall down pi$$sed, or get knackered walking up home.

For old times sake

No, I believe I have answered that one already
You didn't answer that question at all.

You made a generalization of the far east wearing masks, (which is largely down to pollution levels rather than viruses) you didn't answer why the numbers in China are so spuriously low based on high population density and relativly low case prevalence

You haven't addressed why other 'compliant' nations have done less well

So dont dismiss this as "I've answered that question already". No wonder you voted for Tory/Johnson
Serious if almost certainly offensive question: how has Africa done so well? I can understand Asia. Advanced nations that can put high tech track and trace systems in place and have a generally more complaint population to control. Africa though, poorer infrastructure and hospitals.

Here we go

Same personal vendetta. You must hold your tongue for a few days before the pointless attacks flaire up again. You just can’t help it
Maybe I just dont spend my entire life on here, so yes, a few days go by. Inevitably you spout rubbish again though and I comment. Your arrogance and missguided self-importance knows no bounds

Anyway, let's get back to the thread. Engaging with you is futile. Merry Christmas
