So BBC (the licence fee) does pay for the program then, cheers for clearing that up, I thought the licence fee would be paying for it in some way.The BBC pays production companies to make programmes it shows. BBC Studios is one of those companies. Most programmes are now tendered for, BBC Studios won the competition to produce this show. (They bid for quite a lot and don’t always win).
Production companies sort out and pay for their own insurance. BBC Studios is one of these companies. Nothing comes out of the BBC pot. BBC Studios is simply “a supplier”.
This is genuinely nothing to do with the public broadcast arm of the BBC, other than that they would have shown the programme, along with all of the UKTV channels (which BBC Studios themselves own).
It hasn't, just some differing opinions have been aired, which is fine, no problem with that whatsoever, that's what forums are for. I don't think anyone here was there at the incident and was there for the payout agreement. Not even noticed if anyone has mentioned they worked in the production arm of the BBC or main company, or to do with insurance which was a secondary point anyway. This has been explained to him over and over in this thread. He's either not bothering to read other people's posts, choosing to assume they're all talking rubbish, he's lacking comprehension skills or he's trolling.

All I'm reading is a lot of assumptions from people who seemingly have never purchased company insurance for 15 years, or ran companies and subsidiary companies, or nobody has given any examples or backup at least.
Seems to be a lot of people making up assumptions about the incident too, and why it was paid out, yet nobody has any facts, as they've not bee released.
People can have their own values of worth, some may think that claim was worth £9m, some might not.
Not trolling whatsoever, got zero interest in that, which is why I always try and provide examples from real world experiences, which I'm more than happy to provide further detail on.
Anyway, this has been done to death.
