Fixed notice penalties off the Met police - party gate - for PM & Chancellor

They’re worried.

“ Astonishing paralysis of Westminster with @SamCoatesSky reporting that government were considering recall of Parliament to discuss possible use of chemical weapons in Ukraine, but now have scrapped the plans due to the fines”

I urge all of us who have a Conservative MP to Tweet or Facebook them and ask them as a constituent and as your representative in Westminster to condemn the actions of both Johnson and Sunak and call for their resignation, I also urge similar action to Steve Turner and ask him to carry out his election promise to disassociate himself from MP's and Ministers who have committed crimes whilst in office, the same with Ben Houchen, who was vocal in condemning those who did not full Covid regulations during the Lockdown. Use these mediums as a way of getting things on the public record and if they defend Johnson, highlight their hypocrisy. Passive opposition gets us nowhere.

The police say the notice was issued in relation to his birthday party drinks bash.
Though some journalist pointed out it doesn’t mean that only one will be issued. There could be more for other events.
It's possible.... and some suggest likely, that the fat mess will get fined 4 times. Sunak 'just' the once.
Bit surprised Sunak hasn't done the decent thing, and Boris will be begging him not to to save his own skin.

I would love to but, unfortunately or not, my MP, @gibbofordarlo has had his account suspended for inappropriate use. 😂

Oh how ironic that having brutally pushed Sunak under the political bus that now if he does resign, it would almost certainly end Johnson.

Absolutely delicious.

Most of us who have a Tory as an MP have already been blocked by them on social media, simply for asking questions.

I think Sunak will go, think he was considering it anyway.

I've never really been convinced he saw being chancellor as much more than a plaything anyway, something to while away the days etc...

Can't see him sticking around when it's getting tough, he certainly doesn't need the money and doesn't have an ideological bone in his body.
Power. Thats his motivation.
He wanted the top spot. Can't ever see him getting there now.

This is NOT about a party or a cake or how many people were there.

This is about the Prime Minister repeatedly LYING to Parliament and the electorate.

The more the discussion focusses on a party held months ago, the more chance he will have to survive.

He needs to be criticised for lying not partying.
I caught half of an interview with some Tory lickspittle on PM a few minutes ago. When the interviewer said that Johnson and mislead the house so convention is he must resign, the lickspittle said that resignation was not required because Patel had mislead the house a few weeks ago when she said a visa bureau was open when it wasn't so therefore ministers can now mislead the house with no consequence.

This is getting really scary now. It's a putsch.

Outrageous.

You cannot use fines as an excuse not to recall parliament to discuss a response to alleged use of chemical weapons by Russia. If they have been found to have used them then the NATO countries will have no choice but to directly engage Russian forces to overthrow Putin and remove him from power. That in turn directly impacts every man, woman and child in this country and Europe.

It won't make a not of difference to either of them now that the news cycle has moved onto Ukraine.
You're already seeing the apologists coming out and saying now would be the wrong time to change leadership.
It's ok to have a corrupt, duplicitous PM and a corrupt, duplicitous Chancellor leading us through a global and domestic crisis because it was only a few drinks.
We are morally bankrupt as a society and these millionaires and billionaires know it and exploit it to their own benefit. If we had anything about us as a nation we'd never have elected them, let alone continue to condone their ineptitude, their lies and their corruption by not hanging them out to dry and prosecuting their every criminal act that they are all surely shielding behind laws that they've had a hand in passing.

If the PM received a fixed penalty notice for driving at 35mph in a 30mph zone, most people wouldn't care. But if he had given frequent press conferences imploring the nation's drivers to help save lives by respecting the 30mph speed limit, it becomes a different story.

And then factor in that he had repeatedly denied having broken the speed limit himself.
