Firestick 4k v Firestick 4k Max

Anyone know much about Firesticks?

Only £10 between them, is the 4k max worth it from a future proofing perspective or will the 4k still do the job?

Planning on hard wiring it to the router so the WiFi 6e thing doesn't really matter either.

🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Have to say, if you have good wifi signal you don’t need to hardwire. I can get 60GB speeds on the firestick in my kitchen, more than enough for UHD etc.

You would need a USB ethernet adapter to hardwire it. Fire cube has an ethernet port.
Go for the cube if you can. Our main TV has a cube but the others have standard fire sticks but with cat5 connectors.

Edit I do stream 4k stuff mainly from my nas

I don't know if it's just mine but I bought the new 4K max model recently for one of the other tv's in house and the noise of the remote when a button is being pressed as though the back isn't on properly is annoying the hell out of me.

I wouldnt recommend the cube over the 4k max its virtually the same spec and double the price. 4k max vs ordinary 4k, the max is slightly zippier in menus with its faster processor it has more storage and is consequently slightly more future proof. I bought the 4kmax latest incarnation on release date and very happy with it it connects to wifi6e with no problems although the device seems limited to around 350mbs when ive ran speed test.
To me its a bargain at £45. Wifi is also technically faster than a hardwired cube because of the dated 10/100 ethernet port

You can reduce the noise , just google it, very easy

Do you ever need to stream >350MB?

Ugreen adapters apparently run really well with them.

The Gen2 4K Max, newest one out, sot tons of storage and has had a memory and processor update, so that’s the best bang for buck at the mo, however it is already running the new OS on it - and a few features are splitting people’s oppinions on these so far, there is a new mode (think is an adaptive mode, can’t recall the full name of it at the mo, it’s early at the time of writing) which can put it to sleep whilst it’s in use.

I have a new one but have yet to open/try it.

Got a cube coming today because it was only £70 VGC from Amazing warehouse, but... I don't really know what it is. I know it's the fastest firestick but I have no problem with the old one I have. I thought it was a speaker to act as a soundbar type thing, but I think I might be mistaken, not for the first time.
