Firefighters under attack in Middlesbrough

No action just leaves it wide open for the rest of the Towns morons to hit the streets and literally get away with doing whatever they want. Yes it's time to act, swift and sure.
We are not showing these thugs that certain behaviours should have consequence. Thus, they know they can continue to do it again and again, knowing nothing will happen to them. We are helping them to become better citizens by showing them it is not acceptable, and to think about how this effects others. The parents should also be accountable and punished in some way too.

I did some training with some fire fighters from Greater Manchester many years ago and was astounded when they told me these things happened to them.

I remember specifically saying that I could never see that happening in Middlesbrough. That even the bad people respected fire fighters and the role they do.

That was 20 years ago and its awful to think this is the reality.
I'm surprised. Sadly Middlesbrough would be near the top of my list for where I could imagine this sort of thing happening.

I remember when Andy Preston first got in, he was going to be all over these problem tenants, going to get them evicted, time to act.
Im not defending him but there's due process to evict people even if you know they are a nightmare. It takes hundreds of hours of resources and evidence and our public services have been stripped to the core.

Its impossible at the minute

Unfortunately you are wrong there, this was happening in the town regularly circa 1990. I witnessed this many a time growing up on Granville Road
