Fire in L. A.

What a strange bloke Juninhoburger is
For not caring about James Woods, Paris Hilton or Mel Gibson?

I did say I genuinely feel for the less fortunate that have lost their homes. But nobody should feel sorry for a millionaire. I am aware that's just my opinion, and maybe it does make me cold hearted, I guess.

Took my post down. Went back to check some facts and it seems that James Woods was lying about losing his house allegedly. All getting very interesting.😉

When I was at school there was a jolly alliterative phrase to remember the Californian climate - warm, wet winters with westerly winds. But no worries, Donald will sort the fake news climate change with Drill, Baby Drill.
The scenes we have witnessed are horrific and yes, quite a few multi millionaire people losing their homes - the aspect that I take from this is the American mentality when it comes to government services, they hate paying taxes for solid reliable public services and when stuff like this happens which will happen more and more often in the future, Americans generally are some of the most stupid people on earth.
Paranoid and greedy yet when you meet them they appear sane, welcoming and friendly - the large majority of them are bat $hit crazy

Is there anyone who doesn't believe global warming has something to do with these fires? and global warming is linked to the activities of humans?

We have to be careful. This definitely isn't empirical evidence of global warming. California wildfires are common. The only difference between this and any other wildfire is this one is in a place where there are lots of massive wood frame homes. And it's likely started by man. I don't think, other then that, it's the an unusual event to have a fire of this scale in California.

Climate change IS happening thought this can't be denied. Even places like the ultra stable climate of Singapore has had extreme weather this year, floods, heatwaves and it's currently 22 degrees there (which is almost unheard of cold for Singapore)

While climate change has its place, humans are changing the natural landscape. Nature, when left to it's own devices will manage the environment, as we move further into these areas then we need to manage them effectively. How much scares resources are used in keeping unnatural grass areas and non native species, just to look good? It's not just the wealthy either.

The LA area has had rainfall of 15mm in the last 6 months, that's a desert climate and seems to have led to some of their current problems.

If you have a President that is banning new wind turbines and encouraging businesses to "drill baby drill" for new oil and natural gas they are asking for more future problems. The City of LA can't support 9.6m people in a desert climate.
