Finn Azaz

To be honest, I think he's one of a few who'd benefit from having Chuba in the side. Someone who can receive the ball, turn and play a pass like Chuba did opens all sorts of options for others. Such a shame we sold him and his replacement in the space of 2 windows.

Don't think we've seen the best of him yet. Watched him a few times for Argyll earlier in the season and I'd say he was performing at a higher level, albeit in a poorer side.

I think we’ll see a different player next season too.

He doesn’t have the athleticism of a Akpom or Rogers… more of a Tomlin type so needs runners and for players around him to be totally on his wavelength.

I'm still not 100% convinced. Yet we may see the best of him next season. He's clearly got 'something'. Especially a goal or the odd worldie. I guess that could make him a match winner.

He doesn't overly look the ideal 'type' for the way we play. He's not quick or dynamic.

We have broke at pace in recent games and he looks like he's treading water trying to get up alongside his team mates. Rogers was far more suited (probably why we signed him). He has a bit of Lewis Wing about him in terms of style and mobility.

I have no doubt we will see more from him next season.

Yeah, I do like him. Think he's got a lot of positive attributes but does he fit the system is the big question mark.

That said, good footballers can play in any system.

Apart from the goal midweek? ?

I think he is very, very good had some lovely touches today of real quality, probably one of our most creative players, expecting him to be a big success next season!

I think he could go either way - his weakness is clearly physicality - not especially quick or strong.

But there is definitely a player in there. It depends on if we find a role for him and he continues to improve (he's only 23 - should be getting better for the next few seasons).

I actually think he would be better in the McGree cutting in from the left role. Personally would like to see Gilbert in the 10 and Azaz out wide as a trial now we have nothing specific to play for and with Greenwood suspended.

He did play out left when he first joined and he left a gaping hole because he wanted to play and drifted more centrally. I dont think hes a wide player hes more a no10 it is possible to play as a no10 without blistering pace Christian erikkson being prime example

Seems to be more effective away from home when running into attacking spaces. He very rarely has those spaces at home. Too early to tell how successful he will be here, but I think he will improve for us.

It caused no end of defensive problems and completely exposed engel. Surely both left and right wide midfielders need to track back.

They do track back. But obviously if the left mid has licence to come inside and play as a 10, he’s going to have a greater distance to cover to get back in front of his full back.

It’s risk vs reward I suppose. And tbh im happy Carrick sees it that way.

We’ve had enough pragmatic managers recently who have worried more about how the opposition might hurt us, rather than concentrating on how we can hurt the opposition.

My point is azaz didnt track back very well likewise, silvera is useless at it mcgree does track back when fit.
