Finally got rid of Virgin, so my next question is......

I have to say I've been perfectly happy with Plusnet. I originally chose them because you could add BT Sport for £5 pm (which they no longer do since the TNT merger) but I've just renewed for another 18 months because it's been totally reliable (I can't ever remember it dropping, tempting fate) and the customer service has been superb. I'm sure there are faster speeds and more bells and whistles but it's been ideal for my needs.

Virgin for me as alwaysbeen the best.
Virgin internet is excellent when there are no problems but when you need customer support they are terrible. The internet service seems to be getting less reliable over the last couple of years. they must be loosing so many customers to upstarts like cityfibre and youfibre who offer the same speeds for half the price.

honestly, youfibre offer 1000 up/1000 down for £29 with 3 months for £1 and 2 months free if you get referred and those are the speeds you actually get. No In-contract price rises either.

Virgins 1000mb down is restricted to 104mb; recently boosted from 52.

They're going to struggle to retain people as altnets continue to expand

I managed to get an unlimited three 5G broadband for £3 a month about a year ago (bought a modem for £200) - been rock solid after leaving virgin - just did a speed check, ping 31ms, 750Mbps Down, 84Mbps - I'm in Marske - it'll depend where you are to what speeds you get.

Thats the thing with 5g its very dependant on way you physically are. Your house could be in a dead area and you could end up with nothing like those speeds. You need to test first

My previous Virgin deal (£28 / month for M200) expired in June. I called to cancel and got M250 for £31 / month for 2 years.
Vodafone have something called Gigacube which is 50 quid a month for 300GB. Could be worht looking at, but it seems pricey. You need to be in an area with good 4G coverage.
