Excuse my ignorance Lee but where is that in the ground...might be of interest to me and young Ian bairdUsed to be in the North stand but since the arrival of Little LeeMiller have been in the family stand. I have to say again what a fantastic deal that was. I know walk up are expensive and season cards aren’t for every one. But for the first five or six years we sat in the family stand his ticket was free. It work out approx £16 a game for the two of us. Even now when he’s a teenager I think his is less than £100 for 23 games. But he’s now at an age where I think next year we will move to the South Stand for a bit mor atmosphere.
but those with younger children I would heartily recommend the family zone and ticket prices
'A designated family area, the Generation Red Family Zone (the “Family Zone”) is available in the East Stand when the normal Ground capacity is available. It is recommended as an enjoyable area for families, in particular new family spectators, to watch the match.'Excuse my ignorance Lee but where is that in the ground...might be of interest to me and young Ian baird
Its the point of the east stand closest to the North stand (i think it is inclusive of the NE corner?) i sit just before the NE corner with my two lads and will echo what has been said previously about it being very good value.Excuse my ignorance Lee but where is that in the ground...might be of interest to me and young Ian baird
I agree it's brilliant value. The downside is the number of kids sitting playing on phones etc. With having small kids the match is the one place i go which isn't centred around them, so the number of kids in the family area killed the experience for me. I'm sure i' ll end up in there full time at some point thoughUsed to be in the North stand but since the arrival of Little LeeMiller have been in the family stand. What an amazing and detailed report on the pro's and cons of your seat at the Riverside Stadium.I have got used to the NW corner - in daylight hours I can see Roseberry Topping, Eston Hills, Ormesby Bank etc - my childhood play grounds.
Advantages
I can see the big screen, full on.
Its always dry and free from direct sunlight, protected from the biting North Wind
Concourse has window views across to the Transporter, Dock, College. Temonos and Dock Tower - where my father, grandfather, great greatfather all worked.
Apart from Family enclosure cheapest part of the stadium - £29 adult walk up, £420? renewed early bird season ticket.
Disadavantages
A lot of steps up and seems to be more every week!
Tight concourse even with the area only 65% full
Quite a distance to view the South Stand goal - best views are probably where the Chairman sits.
Its a bit quiet now when only a 20k crowd - a lot of former North Standers have moved to the South Stand.
I always think that, not sure if it is just my eyes but the depth perception/direction of a cross field ball always seems to throw me.If i'm out for a drink with the lads then it's the south stand hands down. If i'm watching with my Dad then top of the west lower or bottom of the west upper. Can't stand being low down near the pitch. You can't get a good feel for the game at such low levels.
Ditto on that fella, love my seat in the South. Safe sitting for 15 minutes or so at half time.South Stand.
* Stand up all game with the rest of our fans.
* Great view.
But:
* The toilets are disgusting.
* The pies are always overcooked.
