Used to have season tickets in East Upper then East Lower towards the North stand...thinking of switching to the west stand down near the dug out to watch chrissy wilders red and white army

Used to be in the North stand but since the arrival of Little LeeMiller have been in the family stand. I have to say again what a fantastic deal that was. I know walk up are expensive and season cards aren’t for every one. But for the first five or six years we sat in the family stand his ticket was free. It work out approx £16 a game for the two of us. Even now when he’s a teenager I think his is less than £100 for 23 games. But he’s now at an age where I think next year we will move to the South Stand for a bit mor atmosphere.

but those with younger children I would heartily recommend the family zone and ticket prices

Used to have perfect seats at the top of the East stand, right on the half way line.
Then got displaced further down by the new TV gantry.
When the lad turned 18 we defected to the SW upper to save a few hundred quid (no 18-21 concessions in the East). Quite happy there to be honest, decent view, atmosphere from the south stand, and ideal for a sharp exit at full time.

'A designated family area, the Generation Red Family Zone (the “Family Zone”) is available in the East Stand when the normal Ground capacity is available. It is recommended as an enjoyable area for families, in particular new family spectators, to watch the match.'

Not had one since karanka due to moving south , used to be north stand but if got one now id fancy one right near the dugouts as high a vantage point as poss. Although remember sitting in north west corner in our semi final win vs arsenal and loved the vista looking right acrossthe north stand which was bouncinf that night with flags waving. Get better angle for corners too.

West Upper for me, used to be in the East but hated having the sun in my eyes!

Moved to the South West Upper corner (about in line with Yusef!) as my lad wants to be in the South stand amongst the hurly burly of the ultras, but I like to drink my Bovril in peace and quiet :giggle:.

I agree it's brilliant value. The downside is the number of kids sitting playing on phones etc. With having small kids the match is the one place i go which isn't centred around them, so the number of kids in the family area killed the experience for me. I'm sure i' ll end up in there full time at some point though

I have got used to the NW corner - in daylight hours I can see Roseberry Topping, Eston Hills, Ormesby Bank etc - my childhood play grounds.

Advantages

I can see the big screen, full on.

Its always dry and free from direct sunlight, protected from the biting North Wind

Concourse has window views across to the Transporter, Dock, College. Temonos and Dock Tower - where my father, grandfather, great greatfather all worked.

Apart from Family enclosure cheapest part of the stadium - £29 adult walk up, £420? renewed early bird season ticket.

Disadavantages

A lot of steps up and seems to be more every week!

Tight concourse even with the area only 65% full

Quite a distance to view the South Stand goal - best views are probably where the Chairman sits.

Its a bit quiet now when only a 20k crowd - a lot of former North Standers have moved to the South Stand.

If i'm out for a drink with the lads then it's the south stand hands down. If i'm watching with my Dad then top of the west lower or bottom of the west upper. Can't stand being low down near the pitch. You can't get a good feel for the game at such low levels.

Up until the move to Spain 6 years ago my season ticket was in Block 21 of the North Stand (row 29 seat 99 to be exact) and I liked it there until after relegation under Southgate and the atmosphere died completely. I saw one game from the West Lower near the tunnel and another from the NE corner and one or two from other parts of the North. Since moving to Spain I've only been in the South once, the North once and the family area in the last home match against Birmingham. For me the South is the place to be now purely for atmosphere but if I ever move back and get a season ticket it could be the family area to save a fortune. I quite like the view from there too - it's a very different perspective from the corner. As said above though, it has to be highish up - I couldn't be doing with low down.

What an amazing and detailed report on the pro's and cons of your seat at the Riverside Stadium.
I think you should do the same for every seat in the stadium.
Get back to me when you've finished 👍

My FIL had his season ticket in the SW Corner, so I usually just head there when I go. Bar is always fairly accessible and a decent view etc.

I always think that, not sure if it is just my eyes but the depth perception/direction of a cross field ball always seems to throw me.
