Favourite FA Cup Final Goal?

The 81 cup final was the first one I watched as a little kid. I fully in the Man City camp. Loved Tommy Hutchison's header in the first match and Steve MacKenzie's volley in the replay. For months afterwards I'd be shouting 'Hutchison' whenever I scored in the road.

Gerrard the one that immediately sprang to mind. Struggling to remember too many others. A Michael Owen strike and Di Matteo is about all I can muster.

Gerrard against West Ham is the best in my lifetime without a doubt.

Michael Owen's winner in 2001 is a close second. Liverpool had been second best the whole game but Owen scored twice and they won it. 2001 was peak Michael Owen and he was outstanding. I think he won European Footballer of the year in 2001 as well.

As a young lad I was a big fan of Peak Owen growing up. Shame injuries ruined him and also a shame he went too Newcastle. I prefer to remember the good times though

It was hard not to be a fan of Owen between 98 and 2001. The lad was deadly and one of the best natural finishers around at that time. He was rapid so defenders were scared and when in the 18 yard box was that composed he hardly missed. It's a shame the hamstring injuries took away his pace. He was never quite the same again.

Never forget Ben Watson's goal for Wigan in the 91st minute when they were huge underdogs to beat Man City

He could have been one of the greats, but was too good to young. He would score 8 or 9 goals as a 10 year old every week, he was so fast that he would also get the ball onto his right foot and finish it. This meant by the time he broke into Liverpools first team he had hardly ever had to use his left, and he admits he couldn't pass more than 10 yards with his left. It was rubbish. When he had his first round of injuries he had to learn how to use his left foot foor the first time to compensate for some of his loss of pace.

Imagine if he had been able to use that left foot in the first half of his career, his numbers would have been off the charts.

Back to the subject: Keith Houchen for me, a local lad, playing in an unfancied provincial team, and a great diving header, it was a thing of beauty, a moment he had probably grown up fantasizing about and it actually came true and such a brilliant way

Ricky Villa, in days when I used to look forward and actually watch the Cup Final, those day's are long gone
Got to be honest, I didn't even realise it was the cup final tomorrow. Won't be watching it, how times change!

When the FA Cup was a special day in anyone's home, the 85 Cup final I remember the telly coverage was on from about 10 o Clock and Whiteside's goal was a classic curler the camera angle made the goal as they wasn't as many as there is now. Houchen's diving header was up there too. Not that special now for me now if I'm honest but still watch it.
