Favourite dog breed

We’ve a Springador and she’s lovely - can’t tote her out mind but lovely and gentle natures. We’ve also a typical mongrel, seems to have no real identity and even the vet has no idea what he is. Again, he’s a lovely natured dog and been a great companion.

My favourite breed though? Always loved Border Collies and hope to enjoy retirement with one or two of them.

I like dogs but I,m not allowed a dog, wife doesn't like them.
I like bedlington terriers, lurches and Irish greyhounds.

If I did get a dog it would live in a kennel in the garden. I couldn't have a dog in the house, on the sofa or the bed. I think its dirty. I'll get stick for that but it's just how I feel. I think I have a little OCD or a phobia of the germs.

Does anybody else have an outside dog?

It’s not ideal, dogs are a pack animal and would never feel part of your family / pack if you left it outside all the time on its own. For me it would be pointless having it, if you were insistent on getting one I’d suggest getting two otherwise the dog will just end up mentally broken.

might as well put a photo of the dog in the garden 😂

I like most dogs but could never own a terrier or any dog that barks like crazy the second it remotely thinks anyone is anywhere near the house. Would drive me bonkers. Likewise pepper who leave dogs in their garden while they bark all

I like golden retrievers. Our cats are 17 this year and starting to have health issues, not fair on them to introduce any stress like that at this stage of their lives. We’re going to get another Bengal and a golden retriever at the same time.

It’s sad that the golden retrievers average lifespans have reduced so quickly.

I like labs too, daft as a brush but the way they are with food puts me off. The few I’ve known have been 100% food focused at all times. Girlfriends sisters comes running in our house and knocks the cat food flying every time in a rush to start eating it.

parents have a weim and we all love her but she’s an absolute horse

Currently have a Westie. Very cute and clever but stubborn. Previously had Collies who were just ... wonderful. After losing my last Collie, I said never again but my partner wanted a Westie and I gave in after about 5 years and after losing my partner to cancer last year I am so glad I did. Great company (he sleeps on the bed and settee, often on his back).

Our Dog Bob, he's a Maltese Terrier and just wants to play, we got him at 10 weeks from a breeder in Lancashire. He follows me everywhere.
His agility is amazing and stands with hind legs on a box and his front paws on the window sill looking out of the window watching the birds.
He loves everybody and goes berserk when the grandkids come around.
Had a few King Charles in the past but these Maltese are incredible and only weigh 5 lb and are 10 inches tall
Doesn't bark like crazy only when the kids arrive and hears their car.
Doesn't moult as he has hair and not fur.

They aren't cheap but people a paying a lot of money for cross breed dogs which are essentially mongrels, seems there a lot of apoo dogs.

On our walk yesterday we passed a girl with a Belgian mastiff, it was enormous with paws the size of a side plate. She said (the owner, not the dog) he was only 16 months old so had a bit of growing to do. What an absolutely huge dog. Great looking thing. I commented to my wife "look at size of his paws" to which she replied "look at the size of his balls!"

Border collie for me too. Raised one from a pup when I was 8 and named her Shap and she went everywhere with me. The parents took her on holiday to Scarborough when I was 16, tied her outside a cafe as she wasn't allowed in, but somebody stole her. I've never wanted another dog since, she was irreplaceable.

the old “she got stolen” trick.

Border Terriers -so good I got two! Great little characters and lovely nature. They’re called the vets best friend as so many vets have them as they are such healthy dogs ❤️BB11B8F5-E2A9-4FDD-9A51-B9BA1A0A406A.jpeg
