Why not introduce the Ignore Thread function?

That's a simple solution that solves most issues without segregating the board or forcing people to put too many posters on ignore just to avoid topics they don't want to be seeing.

Here's a screenshot of another board I'm on that uses the same software and has the option up at the top of each thread.

Funny to see this post was ignored, probably the third time I've brought it up without a response.

Can't understand why there'd be opposition to it, it keeps the board exactly as it is for everyone but allows posters who do want to avoid threads to clean up what they can see.

This is true. Its an absolute boon.

There are a couple of posters who, for whatever reason, find it impossible to have a civil response to what I say. Both will jump on me with personal insults regardless of topic. The board is so much better now I can ignore them.

Surely when you decide to sign up to a forum you have a look at it first. If is not the format you are looking for don't join. Look elsewhere until you find something that meets your requirements. If not as someone else posted start your own.
As I've said before asred it covers everything you need to know or want to know

Im sure there's something else which appeals to him other than politics, even then it's the same 5, 6 posters that post the same stuff so he could just skip the politics & get involved in other topus, like cheesy pop 😁👍😎

What we really need is a groan button to see who posts the most rubbish.

What we really need is a groan button to see who posts the most rubbish. And make it anonymous so you don't get the vitriol from those being groaned at.

Count em up at the end of the week/month and award a knob of the week/month

I quite like this idea. Something to aim for.

This seems to come around every few weeks. I'm in the "just ignore the threads you don't like" camp. I like the fact we can converse with loads of people with a connection to Teesside on any topic that matters.

That being said. Tell me more about the "price of butter" section? Would it be solely butter, or would other spreads be involved? Where do we stand on margarine?
on the flora

I’m glad margarine came up, it gives me a chance to post the greatest song ever

Send me a private message if you'd like to talk in more detail about butter related topics mate. No real names required and no questions asked. I'm really openminded and I don't judge people.
Lurpak or Stork?

“Very rarely” would be the keywords. I’d like to see a board of more Boro related threads, more threads that interest me, less threads that have keywords that don’t, that’s all. Am I moaning? Are you moaning about me potentially moaning?
If you want to see a thread that interests you then start one. If other people want to discuss the topic then it'll develop into a decent thread. If no one else is interested in "18th Century Macrame Patterns" then it'll drop off the front page.

If you want more football posts then start them.

Please tell me more about '18th century Macrame patterns'. Do it via PM if you're a bit wary of doing it on a public forum like this. Could you make one with margarine?

I guess that Stork is the only viable option then. But that word has rather grubby associations too. This whole butter/ margarine dilemma is a bit of a nightmare isn't it? Thanks for that Randy mate.
Anytime.

Work is quiet and I'm bored shitless 🤣
