A respected member of this board posted the following after the game last night following scuffles observed by Middlesbrough Station after the game:

Really disappointing to see a few of them (wearing RF hoodies) starting on a couple of young Birmingham fans near the station after the match. The Brum lads were just trying to get their train but these idiots were stopping them, threatening them and were completely out of order. Fortunately a few Boro fans stepped in, but it ruined what was a really enjoyable afternoon.

Are you able to comment please ?

Without being judgemental, its important those who represent the club or participate in its Forums and Fan Participation Groups behave in an impecable and totally responsible and respectable manner.

Sincerely.

Ps: The poster confirms the alleged perpetrators were wearing black hoodies with the yellow lion emblem on them.

Well done fella, hope they catch the little scrotes.

Sadly it's not the first time, there was an embarrassing carry on at Sunderland last season.
However, I don't think the original RF can can hope to control all those who allign themselves with RF(by wearing the garb etc), particularly away from the ground.
Thats fair comment chap.
There will always be toe-rags who attach themselves to particular groups of supporters [which undermines them] ,who shouldnt be allowed near a game of football.

Exactly.

My understanding is that RF are (and I mean this in the nicest possible way) a bunch of well-meaning nerds who like to spend their free time painting pretty banners and writing songs. They're not hooligans.

I agree.

The hard-core RF08 are a brilliant dedicated group of grown up lads who do a lot to raise money for local charities, collections, get the crowd going, raising the tempo, making great banners......IF it was any of their members / supporters involved, Im sure they will be busted.

I`ve no doubt there will be a pile-on now from those with an axe to grind - so we`l have to ignore them until we know the facts.

If the OP could identify the idiots they could pick them out from the extended highlights on the MFC site. There is a few seconds coverage of RF.

Whoever they were, hopefully there will be cctv around the area. Has anyone alerted the police? Maybe they can pick them up en route to or near the station, identify them and investigate?

If anyone going to a football game can’t do so without drinking far too much alcohol, or by needing to take other illegal substances, or even has an in built aggression they need to take out on their fellow countrymen and women, then they need help. They do not represent me, my club or their town, they are representative of all that is wrong in society. They have a free mind and will and if they can afford to get drunk, buy drugs or afford to attend football games, then they would be better evaluating their very lives and existences and putting their time to better use. The world is messed up enough right now as it is without eejits thinking its ok to bully those wearing a different colour shirt or speaking in a different accent to themselves.
