The marine version was still used in the Royal Navys Hunt class minesweepers until not too long ago (replaced by Caterpillar engines). Served in four of them. There is/was (not sure if its still there) one outside North Front in Gibraltar, facing the runway that was used as an emergency generator. Apparently there's a fine art to manually air starting them.I never hear the sound of twin Napiers without thanking God that some complete genius had the brilliant idea of putting two high speed two stroke gunboat engines into a railway locomotive
