Throwing a few scraps on the table and sticking two fingers up at 99% of clubs so that a handful of the big boys can get even richer playing more European matches. Absolute joke.

Perfectly predictable, but not enough of it.I'd prefer to slim down the European competitions.
Let's go back to straight knock out: instead of clubs playing 6 matches in a group stage to eliminate half the teams, let's make them just play 2.
Or would that make cash flow too unpredictable?
These are the replays that non-league clubs have had this season.
23/24 - Horsham battered 3-0 by Barnsley at home.
Slough battered 7-2 by Grimsby away.
Clay Valley Paper Mills battered 6-1 at home by Charlton.
Barnet battered 4-1 by Newport at home.
Aldershot beat Stockport 1-0.
Walsall beat Alfreton 1-0
Eastleigh beaten 3-1 at home by Newport.
That's 7 replays, and in 6 of them the non-league team lost, most of them were demolished, and none of them were playing a big team.
They'd have made more money progressing to the next round after winning a penalty shootout.
I said that just a short time ago before you.
Yeah, sorry, your post wasn't there when I started minne, I spent that long finding and typing up the results, but I agree.
I was originally going to do the last 10 seasons but I thought it would be info spam and just this season alone was enough evidence.
In a sporting context, replays rarely help smaller teams progress.
They certainly don't give them a better chance than a straight shoot-out would.
It's not just Premier League managers that are struggling with fixture congestion in the modern game either, despite this clearly being done to benefit the top.

I thought that they are no longer allowed to switch.I guess they will always have the option to switch from it being a home tie to the away venue if they draw a big club like Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool or Hull City?
Did the EFL have a say in this decision? Or any of the other leagues whose teams compete in this competition? Or was in just the Premier League who were allowed to influence this?FA have bent over for the PL.
It is a very sad day for English football.
