Ex-Nottingham Forest star Britt Assombalonga could be set for cheap exit
The Middlesbrough forward is out of contract in the summer and it is being speculated that the Reds' Championship rivals may be ready to cash in during the January windowFormer Nottingham Forest forward Britt Assombalonga could be set for a cheap exit from Middlesbrough amid fears they will lose him for nothing in the summer.
Assombalonga is out of contract at the Riverside at the end of the season and the Mirror are now reporting that Boro could be willing to let him leave on the cheap rather than lose him for nothing.
Assombalonga was a huge favourite at the City Ground where he smashed in 30 goals in 47 games and was regarded as one of the best strikers to have pulled on the Garibaldi Red in recent times.
Middlesbrough signed Assombalonga for £15m after triggering a release clause in his deal with the majority of Forest fans sad to see the former Peterborough forward quit the City Ground.

Assombalonga has worn the armband at Boro this season, but with no sign of a new deal on the table, Boro are reportedly open to offers for the centre forward.
