Ex Cleveland police chief barred from serving

Where would Cleveland Police come in a league table of law breaking, bent and corrupt officers?

The Met would be clearly top, South Yorkshire would be up there too I suppose.
Probably much lower than you would think. Misconduct proceedings against police officers are a matter of public record, so there are plenty of websites that publicise such information.

They've been trying to incorporate/ join up North eastern police forces for quite a while now .
None of the others want any part of it.
Isn't two chiefs sacked / suspended for misconduct still a record ?

Without a legislative change it can't happen, regardless of any local willingness and the current government havent any interest in doing so.

The problems with Veale were predictable, he was investigated in Wiltshire who declined to offer him a new contract, before coming to Cleveland. PCC's don't let good, or even adequate Chief Constables leave unopposed without good reason.

He singularly set the force back 10 years, at least and the current predicament is a legacy of that.

And this current issue for him isnt the last for him either.
