Even mighty Liverpool get hammered off Brighton

They're class to be honest, their recruitment is quality. Them and Brentford are the models we need to follow. That's painful to say considering we had the chance to be what they are now.

Hopefully Carrick, Woody and Scott are the men that will take us there

The Brighton performance was the best I’ve seen by a visiting team at the Riverside since Arsenal beat us 6.1 in 1999. It made me back Brighton this week to win the FA Cup this year. (y)

Brighton are one of the best teams in the PL this season. Too many on here I think just assumed they were PL relegation fodder and there for the taking.

It won’t have done us any harm having that reality check.

They seemed to give us yearly Riverside thrashings. Watching Henry against our defence was like when your mate brings a Northern League ringer to play in your 5 a side team.

True, painful but also great to watch Henri in full flow.

They are a decent dark horse for an FA Cup final appearance.
Nice on the eye under Potter but no scored board pressure.
The new guy has got them playing with more flair and free-scoring and even managed to tighten them up defensively.

Brighton are very good just now but like all clubs of this size in the Prem they are one bad season away from the drop.

We‘ve seen a good few ‘model’ clubs now - I can remember when even Reading were the ones to follow…

Brighton have been on a great run for years. They were a very good team in 2015/2016 when finishing third to Boro. Karanka's achievement of finishing ahead of them goes unacknowledged by some on here. In fact, some claim Boro "limped" over the line. That completely ignores the fact Brighton were an excellent team. They went something like 25 games unbeaten that season.

Since their promotion they've recruited well both on the player front and coaching. Getting the likes of Mac Allister is brilliant. It's not just little known foreign players either. Players like Welbeck have loads of ability and Brighton took a chance on him.
