Does it all feel a bit flat considering England are in a semi final tonight? Doesn’t seem like many are as bothered this time around

I don’t think the weather helps, it’s so wet and miserable. Might be my memory but previous tournaments it feels like lots of people were in sunny beer gardens.

Definitely

Haven’t heard It’s coming home all tournament

Combination of England being dull as ditchwater to watch, and a third semi in a few years I would say.

My own view (feel free to disagree) is that many of the game have been turgid and boring. Not just the England games, but especially the England ones. The France Spain 1st half was one of the rare games that burst into life.

Apart from Spain the standards been poor. Spain and Austria are the only teams to have played good attacking football

I think the expectations from fans are too high these days. There’s an arrogance that we should be walking this and people have become immune to the scarcity of successes like this. The reality is from ‘66 to 2018, 52 years we had two semi finals and now we’re in our third in 6 years.

This is very much not the norm but people have become numb to it.

I dunno where you lot are but every pub is bursting round here and you can't move for people wearing England shirts with 'Gascoigne' on the back who weren't even born when Gascoigne was playing for England.
