EU slaps vaccine export ban rules on UK

I'm hoping Spanish has had a few wines tonight. Had a few runs in way back but seems a decent bloke

This guy spent all last year gloating at the UK for its mismanagement of covid, constantly comparing the UK to Spain.

Which is fine because most of the flak was deserved and not just form foreigners but mostly from Brits.

But when Spain started to have problems it put pay to his crowing and he disappeared, but now when something in the UK is going right he's back, crowing because the EU are attempting to shaft us.
Just read Spain have had to put their vaccination programme on hold for 2 weeks as they ran out of vaccine

Dear me there's a few rabid brexiteers ****** over their blue passports tonight :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Careful of your wrists boys
There's also an awful lot of pro EU remainers like myself who are shocked and disappointed with how this is going.

There is no way that this doesn't cost actual lives. The EU seem to be acting appallingly and I'm glad to hear they've reconsidered Ireland border issue.

The UK have indeed acted in bad faith in my opinion but you don't play games with vaccines in a pandemic

The best part is that this whole thing is an issue between an independent company and the EU and has nothing to with the UK Government.
It seems like half the world is ***ed off that we have finally got something right, especially the spanish.

I apologise for doubling down. However the UK threatened to breach international law. There was bound to be be some form of retribution at some point.

As I said earlier I was surprised it was so soon.

I wish that this dispute gets resolved peacefully. In a way that is best for everyone in the world in these difficult times.

I have already congratulated the UK governments on their vaccination process in other threads. However those that use this as an argument to cover the gross incompetence of the English government in the last 12 months annoy me a lot.

So at this point I am retiring to bed and wishing good will in the world as a whole.

Sorry I'm going to bed. It's only taken 4 years

I don't disagree with the retribution point as there's bound to be some **** waving and ******* contests along the way but this goes way beyond that on the EU side.

It's absolutely OK to say that the EU have acted poorly here without compromising your stance. I can disaggregate poor decisions from the EU and bad judgement from our horrific Tory government as not being mutually exclusive.

I think it's important not to let the recent history cloud the difference between right and wrong. Especially not when people are dying every day.

The behaviour of the EU threatens lives as much as the awful management of our country and neither are acceptable, least of all on political grounds.

Ask Boris for the definitive. He knows more about u turns than a cab driver.

Must admit all of this posturing on all sides is beyond the pale.

If the boot was on the other foot I would be applauding uk gov for challenging the situation. That's what governments are meant to do, serve the best interests of their nation.

What we need now is a Mike Dean to step in and ajudicate. One set of fans can then bemoan his rubbish decision whilst the others applaud that he got it right.

Very shady business from the EU, not thinking through the fallout from suggesting to use this clause in such a specific and limited way.
