In this case its understandable - Spanish TV is terrible. I never watch it.That should be a pre requisite for anyone moving to a foreign country. Asking where you can watch British TV isn't a great start
To be fair it isn’t the best. I seem to remember their version of deal or no deal to be better though. Allá tú I think it was calledIn this case its understandable - Spanish TV is terrible. I never watch it.
I seem to remember that after paying for the gas bottles (5 on line and 5 spare) to run the central heating) and half a lorry load of logs for the fire, we did not save anything on heating the villa in Spain. Remember, on the Costa Blanca a villa is designed to keep the heat out, not in, and thus it could get bloody cold in a Spanish dwelling without having some heating in the winter.wonderful country and people plus you will save a small fortune on heating
And if you can speak a bit of the language, the Spanish Health system is very good - though you won't find many Doctors in the State system that can (or are willing to) speak English, and why should they. What other advice to give depends a lot on your circumstances. Are you retired or working for example? If working, are you an employee or self employed. I'm working for a company here so I know nothing of the issues with Health Insurance, etc that retired people have as I'm in the Spanish social security system. Are you alone, a couple or with kids?
Totally agree, even if it’s just to be polite and get through the basics, ordering food asking standard questions.Great advice J. If you don’t you will just be a foreigner on an extended holiday.
I’m not going to lie it’s really tough and stressful.Congratulations to you & the family!
Sorry a little off the topic, I too am looking at buying a property in Spain, Costa Del Sol Coast, how did you find the general legal requirement's post Brexit, it appears to be a mine field?
Which is why you come to the Canaries instead, don’t need heating any time of yearI seem to remember that after paying for the gas bottles (5 on line and 5 spare) to run the central heating) and half a lorry load of logs for the fire, we did not save anything on heating the villa in Spain.
