Emigrated to Spain - general advice please

What other advice to give depends a lot on your circumstances. Are you retired or working for example? If working, are you an employee or self employed. I'm working for a company here so I know nothing of the issues with Health Insurance, etc that retired people have as I'm in the Spanish social security system. Are you alone, a couple or with kids?

wonderful country and people plus you will save a small fortune on heating
I seem to remember that after paying for the gas bottles (5 on line and 5 spare) to run the central heating) and half a lorry load of logs for the fire, we did not save anything on heating the villa in Spain. Remember, on the Costa Blanca a villa is designed to keep the heat out, not in, and thus it could get bloody cold in a Spanish dwelling without having some heating in the winter.

And if you can speak a bit of the language, the Spanish Health system is very good - though you won't find many Doctors in the State system that can (or are willing to) speak English, and why should they.

If you're that way inclined, Private healthcare is affordable as long as you have no existing conditions when you enrol. Edit - and those Doctors are much more likely to speak English, but not necessarily the support staff

Whichever option you go for, you should ensure you're covered as soon as you can

Congratulations to you & the family!
Sorry a little off the topic, I too am looking at buying a property in Spain, Costa Del Sol Coast, how did you find the general legal requirement's post Brexit, it appears to be a mine field?
I’m not going to lie it’s really tough and stressful.

Pm me and I’m happy to give you info on what we needed to do and the challenges we had

Good luck to you. I'm In the Canaries on holiday at the minute and the Spanish people are lovely, fantastic with kids. As other people have said. Firestick, IPTV. All sport. Every Boro game. What more can you ask for!

Find yourself a good ferreteria, imperative for those odd jobs.
Those who say learn as much Spanish as possible are correct, people over there warm to you quickly if you make an effort!

Which is why you come to the Canaries instead, don’t need heating any time of year 😜
