Don't get me wrong I want Boro to win with every bone in my body but Tav's dive in front of the North stand yesterday was just a blatant attempt to cheat.

This is not what sport should be all about, yes I know it happens almost every game now but it still doesn't make it right.

Tav has been magnificent this year and his clearance off the line was superb yesterday but stop the embarrassing cheating please.

Spot on.👍

I agree with the sentiment but there’s one problem with this though and that’s the ref’s in this leagues inability to know the difference between a foul and a dive.

As how often have we seen a player clearly fouled and nothing is given as he stayed on his feet. So players have to fall to the ground now to be awarded anything.

Classic example yesterday corner comes on cobubrn is almost bent double by the hull defender nothing is given despite it being a clear foul.

Agreed, can’t abide blatant cheating but the game is just rife with it .. Connelly did the same in the first half when he was in a good position to shoot.. for me it showed his utter lack of confidence that he’d rather go down than try and get a shot off.

Jones has been diving for weeks as well. McNair dived in front of the east stand yesterday and got nothing. He's another who dives persistently. Taylor did it the other night and got the free kick. It's really poor. But then you look at Gordon for Everton the other night, driving towards the line to cross it and just steps across the Burnley defender and goes down. Penalty given. And that's with Mike Dean, one of the best refs around, AND the use of VAR and an infinite number of replays. If Gordon can get a penalty after all that you can see why players do it.

The problem is rife as said.

Refs often don’t punish cheating.

That Hull player that held onto the ball at our throw in by the East stand
Players constantly wasting time by questioning officials,
Smallwood shuffling off the pitch like an old man to waste time before shoved by Connolly (his best moment, as Smallwoods reaction drew the yellow card his shuffling alone warrranted).
Players feigning injury to break play up
Players stealing 10 yards on throw ins
Goalkeepers throwing themselves to the ground and waiting 10 seconds before slowly getting up then hanging onto the ball for an age before releasing it.
Refs never punish time wasting until the last throws of the game,

Opposition teams seem far more adept at it than us, I don’t want us to cheat, but it is endemic in the game and it does hurt us from time to time when we keep it honest.

This needs stamping out of the game, this whole culture of why didn't he go down there ect,its as if we accept it as part of the game now.
Win at all costs no matter how you do it,sorry I don't agree with all that.
Give everything, play fairly and honestly and give us our game back.
Cheating is killing the game, the authorities need to get involved,go round all of the football clubs and explain it won't be tolerated and there will be massive penalties involved for those found guilty.

Jones never used to dive, if he went down you knew it was genuine, the last couple of months diving has started creeping into his game - probably watching a few of his team mates getting away with it.
