Average that, and I reckon we’re in the playoffs. 1.6 points per game (currently at 2.2 per game under Carrick).
Next 5 games will give us a clear indication if we’re good enough

I think we are good enough against the Championship teams exc Burnley.
We also have 11 home and only 9 away.
I will be very surprised if Carrick doesn't keep us in the Play off places and get us to 3rd or 4th meaning second leg at The Riverside.

Dream scenario is spanking Sunderland so much away from home that the home semi is just a party and a pîss take of them

This is our current form - including all of Michael Carrick`s 10 league games.
This includes that Preston game - which was before he really started to put a foot-print on the team.
It bodes well for the rest of the season

The realist would expect a drop off after the initial bounce. Add to it that the league is extremely tight then anything can happen. Playoffs will be a bonus given where we we’re in October
